What the job involves
- Butterfly Network is seeking an experienced corporate paralegal to join its in-house legal team
- The corporate paralegal will report to the VP, Deputy General Counsel while also supporting the VP, Compliance and Contracting
- Manage US and international subsidiary filings and related record keeping, including filing of annual reports
- Complete ad-hoc and special corporate, compliance, and data privacy projects as requested/required
- Support financing and business development transactions, including assisting with corporate diligence and maintaining data room
- Assist with organizing, tracking and monitoring contracts in contracts database
- Support drafting and execution of contracts
- Open payment review/processing support
- Support in-house counsel with budgeting process; review outside counsel invoices and monitor spend against budget
- Assist finance team and in-house attorneys with SEC filings, including, but not limited to Form 4 filings
- Assist in-house counsel with e-discovery and other related projects
- Assist with preparation and distribution of Board and Committee meeting materials and coordination of D&O questionnaires
Our take
Ultrasound machines are invaluable tools for clinicians, but these setups remain inaccessible to many. This is due to existing machines relying on quartz-powered transducers and other specialized components, resulting in a very large size and an expensive price tag.
Butterfly Network builds innovative, inexpensive, and compact ultrasound technology in order to increase access to clinics across the U.S. The device is around the same size as an electric razor, a design made possible by storing the ultrasound technology on a chip as opposed to a semi-conductor.
Whilst the company has not innovated the ultrasound process itself, Butterfly Network has found a unique gap in the market by providing inexpensive and easy-to-use access to the many clinics that could benefit from having an ultrasound machine. The device is available for under $2,000, but software designed for easy access and interpretation of ultrasound imagery comes at an additional monthly cost.
The company has also launched its very own AI marketplace called ''Butterfly Garden'' where medical device companies, virtual care companies, and AI developers can access Butterfly's software development kit. This will enable them to build new applications that reach Butterfly's prominent installed base.
