Who you are
- You have a strong understanding of Design thinking, Accessibility and Design Systems and why they’re important in order to communicate the importance to stakeholders and get buy-in
- You’ll be highly proficient in using Figma and have experience of contributing to design systems
- You can identify and compare the best processes to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes
- You're a champion for the customer’s voice and you support and challenge teams to make sure design decisions are backed by data and insights
- You can facilitate workshops and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to solve problems
- Have experience of agile working
- You’ll be able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
- You can absorb large amounts of conflicting information and use it to make simple designs
- Participate in user research and testing activities and draw the insight needed to make informed and user centred design decisions
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure what is designed is commercially viable and technically feasible

What the job involves
- You’ll be responsible for designing consistent, effortless, digital experiences. We’re looking for someone who demonstrates creative and analytical thinking and delivers effective UX/UI solutions. You’ll have an eye for visual interaction design, coupled with excellent communication skills to champion UX thinking with product owners and developers. You'll also have the ability to lead UX projects and maintain a focus on collaborative problem solving
- We’ll look to you to implement UX/UI best practice and apply a wide range of techniques such as: information architecture mapping, user journey mapping, workshop facilitation, ideation, prototyping
- Delivers impactful solutions that solve customer problems and move business metrics
- Ensure the UX process is followed, and decisions are made based on research and data
- Able to measure success of design work
- Support the delivery of product roadmaps, working with the Product Owners and Dev teams
- Ensure a smooth handover to development and ensure what is developed matches the design
- Share best practice and new innovations that you come across in the wider industry
- Contribute to growing a customer-centric culture by helping the business understand what UX/UI is and how we add value
- Contribute to the design system by creating and documenting components to be used throughout the digital experience
Our take
TalkTalk is a connectivity provider serving 4 million customers. Originally founded as a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse, it was demerged as a standalone company in 2010. TalkTalk boasts a number of firsts in the industry; including launching free calls between its customers, providing a whole-home filtering service, and bringing WiFi 6 router technology to the UK.
In hopes of optimising the experience of its broadband customers, TalkTalk has partnered with DZS, which is a leader in access and optical edge infrastructure and cloud software solutions. TalkTalk will leverage the market-leading technologies of DZS, including DZS CloudCheck and Expresse Cloud EDGE, towards reducing call escalations, minimising equipment replacements and shortening call handling times.
In 2022, TalkTalk acquired rival SSE from Ovo Energy, in order to bolster its customer portfolio. Rumours of its own acquisition by Virgin Media O2 followed that same year, though the deal did not come to fruition. The company also agreed a partnership with Telecom Acquisitions, the manager of a number of broadband ISP brands and products, which includes TalkTalk securing the controlling stake in the company.
