- Deep analytical skills to analyse and build accurate estimates for different metrics (Spend, Revenue, transactions, GP, etc.) for multiple Marketing Channels
- Supports stakeholders to clarify and simplify their requests
- Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Expert skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
What the job involves
- The Traveler Business Team has a mission to deliver the most convenient, rewarding, and memorable ways for people to travel and explore the world
- We are looking for an experienced Senior Insights & Activations Manger to join our Global Markets team in Canada
- Identify opportunities through customer and market insights to grow share for the Canadian point-of-sale
- Build meaningful insights and recommendations that drive localized strategies to reach growth targets for Expedia, Hotels.com & Vrbo Canada
- Devise methods and procedures for building (re)allocation recommendations at a POSa level for multiple channels to drive performance
- Demonstrate understanding of the financial impact of decisions/solutions to drive projects and analyses that support the organization’s mission
- Work on customizing local market email campaigns and regional sales
- Monitor performance of the CA POSa providing regular trading updates and find business opportunities to correct performance
- Collaborate regularly with stakeholders to optimize supply competitiveness in key travel corridors
- Ensure brand marketing activities are locally relevant (brand localization, marketing briefs, sales campaigns, messaging, imagery, destinations, etc.)
- Generate customer (traveler), partner (supplier), market & competitor insights for regional stakeholders
- Monitor the macro environment, including market trends and tracking local competitors
- Create clear, concise, and organized communication materials to be presented to key stakeholders and leadership (e.g., reports, dashboards, presentations, messages)

Its primary web businesses include Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Hotwire.com, and Egencia.com.
Between 2021 and 2022, Expedia has been selling and merging a list of its sub-brands in a bid to simplify its operations, including Egencia and Classic Vacations. Due to plummeting share prices, mostly in the case of its sub-brands, Expedia has been leveraging its subsidiaries' customer base and merging them into the company’s core brand. Contrasting this move, Expedia has also been partnering with tech start-ups in a bid to make travel more accessible to underserved groups. Becoming Rentable, a travel company for the disabled is one of 12 startups that are part of Expedia Group’s new Open World Accelerator Programme.
What this indicates is Expedia’s shift from buying other travel companies and a move towards enhancing the experience of its preexisting customer base. This move is aiding in a long-term plan for greater long-term traveler loyalty, utilizing Expedia’s vast amounts of data, not just from reviews, but from check-in, cleanliness, communication, cancelations, etc to inform how guests experience a property.
