Who you are
- Experience growing a global customer success or delivery team in a B2C environment (minimum 50 people)
- Enjoys working in a high growth, high paced environment
- Strong people management skills, including the ability to coach first time managers and create buy-in for process changes

What the job involves
- The company is looking for an experienced VP Global Editorial Operations to drive efficiency and grow project delivery in line with sales while continuing to delight clients
- The VP will manage the largest team in the company, work closely with the VP Product, report to the CEO and be a member of the management team
- The role is based in London with international travel required, including to its L.A. office (post-pandemic)
- Set the operational strategy to match sales growth over the coming 3-5 years
- Optimise processes from client onboarding to delivery including upselling and driving customer insights
- Inspire a team of 20 editors and managers working across the US and Europe (growing to 40-50 by end of 2022)
- Drive efficiency through tighter management and process improvements, while balancing productivity and customer satisfaction targets
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, efficiency, and personal growth
- Work hand in glove with our VP Product on the development of our BookMaker platform (where editors, writers and storytellers collaborate)
- Manage four direct reports (three managing editors and the Manager of Editorial Processes)
- Support marketing, sales & product to drive customer insights and lifetime value

StoryTerrace aims to create a world in which every life story is captured in a meaningful way. It does this with its core service of turning people's life stories into books using its tech platform alongside a large network of over 600 vetted freelancers.
It allows individuals to commit their most important life moments to print with a compelling prose narrative, while StoryTerrace's ghostwriters take care of the process of creating, writing, editing and printing family memoirs. This whole process generally takes 8-12 weeks, depending on the book length.
The platform matches clients with professional writers, who hold interview sessions by phone, video call, or in person. After learning your backstory and all relevant details, the writer will begin working on the text of the book, allowing the customer to comment on and read the book as it progresses, as well as customise the design and cover.
This approach has led to StoryTerrace growing over 100% per annum, and becoming the leader in this emerging new product category. With offices currently based in Los Angeles and London, StoryTerrace aims to grow further.
