- White Cube is seeking a talented and creative data professional to lead the development of reporting and analytics and help establish a data centre of excellence for White Cube. We want to turn data into an asset!
- This is a role for someone with a growth mindset, who enjoys hands-on technical work within a Agile technology team but also possesses communication skills to work with non-technical stakeholders across the business. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- You’ll be exceptional at building impactful solutions in Power BI. You’ll have a working knowledge of a broad stack of cloud technologies, excellent engineering skills, and experience of Ingestion and ETL methods for pushing data into Snowflake from internal (MuleSoft, Salesforce, SaaS platforms etc) and external API-sources.
- 5+ years Analytics Engineering / Data Engineering / BI Engineering experience
- Strong ability to inform data strategy in a maturing transformation environment
- Strong knowledge and experience with creating CI/CD pipelines in Azure Pipelines
- Strong knowledge of effective source control using Git in Azure Repos
- Strong knowledge of and experience in implementing dimensional models (Kimball methodology)
- Strong hands-on experience of data warehousing, data modelling, structuring new data tables, security/access frameworks, and analytics delivery
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong experience with data transformation tools such as dbt, or Dataflow
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Snowflake and PostgreSQL databases
- Strong Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong SQL and Python coding skills, particularly in automation & integrations
- Sound experience in AWS cloud services and modern ETL technologies
- Sound understanding of data architecture, quality frameworks, and reporting tools
- Sound understanding of software engineering best practice and their application to data processing systems
- Confident managing stakeholders and working as a senior individual contributor
- Proven ability to translate business questions into actionable insights and enabling data-driven experimentation
- Ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders, helping them understand the art of the possible, empathically challenging assumptions and enabling data-driven experimentation
What the job involves
- As a highly capable data engineer, you will be responsible for building dynamic Power BI solutions, leveraging the best of Snowflake for Analytics and Insight, shaping data modelling and informing Data governance. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholder groups to develop complex, and at times bespoke, data solutions for a logistics-intensive business
- Our work involves moving thousands of valuable artworks across the globe, hosting several public and private exhibitions and participating in art fairs all over the world, so think about the type of problems you would be solving. As a data specialist, you’ll help raise data literacy and analytics self-serve across this global business
- Design and build dimensional data models in Snowflake
- Develop and manage ETL automation, ingestion and data quality conformity into Snowflake using data quality methods and libraries
- Building robust and impactful visualization of Data and Insight using secure, scalable Microsoft Power BI solutions and dashboards, and reporting infrastructure
- Partner closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective and structured data solutions
- Apply DevOps and Agile methodologies, including use of CI/CD tools and code repo
- Spearhead cloud migration efforts to Snowflake, including data transitions from on-prem environments
- Ensure data governance and security-by-design standards are maintained
- Continuously evaluate and implement new ways to improve platforms and system
