Who you are
- Experience with similar tech: Ruby, React Native, Distributed Systems, AWS services (data, compute) and Service Oriented Architectures
- Worked as a software engineer and have a deep empathy towards engineering happiness
- 2+ years in a people management responsibilities
- Interest in pushing the technology, people, and organization envelope to explore new ways we can deliver amazement to our customers
- A fascination in how to make teams and people thrive

What the job involves
- Chime is looking for an engineering leader to help manage and guide one of the technology teams. Our mission is to make access to your money fast, reliable, and easy, enabled by building software to power features like Instant Transfers, Mobile Check Deposit, and Direct Deposits – through integrations between third parties, our core applications, and dedicated money movement service
- In this role, you will focus on supporting our members’ lending needs by driving the product and engineering execution for experiences like personal loan offerings, installment-based payment tools, and future innovations in member lending
- Your team will be at the forefront of enabling financial progress for millions of Americans who have historically been underserved by traditional credit systems
- Work closely with our engineering leaders to ensure engineering efficiency and guide the team through a path forward to improve and scale delivery. Ensure that technical decisions support our quality, performance, scalability, reliability, availability, and security goals
- Design, develop, test, and scale new and existing consumer product features
- Build, lead and hire a high-calibre team of software engineers to solve these problems while being hands on
- Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement
- Establish a sense of urgency and direction, set expectations with team and individuals. Establish team objectives in alignment with business goals
- Work very closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Risk teams to launch responsible, accessible, and easy-to-use credit features for our members
- Contribute to overall engineering initiatives as a member of Chime’s engineering leadership team
