- Excellent written communication that is substantive and domain-specific - Can you write a good email? Can you write copy around the benefits of a product? Can you write talking points for a PM to deliver to a webinar of customers?
- Design sensibilities - You need to be able to create 1-pagers, you don't need to 100% design and create brochures, one pagers, etc, BUT you should be able to do these on your own whether in Canva, Word, etc, doesn't matter but these have to look good and be high fidelity enough to put in front of prospects and customers without having to always wait for a designer to help you
- Video creation abilities -- can you use tools to record product videos, add slides, and stitch them together
- Project management skills prioritize and manage fast-moving initiatives that involve several stakeholders, timed to product releases, with visibility across multiple teams
- Technology savvy - need to be able to use and understand our product and how it maps to the specific needs of our customers
What the job involves
- Run scheduled demand-generation tactics such as weekly emails, blog posts, and organic social posting
- Create reports on marketing and sales metrics, such as conversion rates
- Weekly report on digital marketing performance (e.g. web traffic and rankings, SEO optimization, search trends, etc.)
- Manage daily administrative tasks to ensure the Marketing department runs smoothly (Jira project management, project briefs, etc.)
- Keep organized records of marketing metrics and results of past campaigns
- Monitor competitors’ marketing activities
Our take
SchooLinks provides a framework to help students figure out what careers might suit them - and how to get there - through a multitude of features from personality tests to financial aid calculators.
Founded in 2014, the company has grown its market position with an increasing number of customers, and continued to develop and improve both its features and integrations. For example, a partnership with Common App has enabled students using SchoolLinks to directly apply to over 900 higher education institutions with ease.
SchooLink's most notable competitor is Naviance, another company supplying college and career readiness tools, which has also seen significant progress in the market. That said, SchooLink's strong history of growth coupled with having substantial funding at its back should allow it to solidify its own place and capture further success moving forward.
