Who you are
- 15+ years of experience in a B2B marketing role with a significant focus on ICP content development and account-based marketing strategies
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, specifically cloud security or identity
- Experience with marketing and sales tools (e.g., HubSpot, Mutiny)
- Excellent communication skills, love writing, creating slides, comfortable presenting on webinars and trainings, and communicating through social media
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working in cross-functional teams
- Creative thinking and strategic planning skills, with a detail-oriented approach to execution
- A passion for technology and innovation, with a drive to stay ahead of industry trends and best practices
What the job involves
- The Director of Strategic Marketing will be crucial in shaping StrongDM's account-based marketing efforts, developing ABM strategies and programs, and creating go-to-market playbooks and supporting materials needed to support our ICP tiers.
- This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, campaign creation, tactical execution, and analytical prowess. Content creation is a key component – must be comfortable with writing, presentation creation and delivery, and social media
- Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy and messaging that communicates StrongDM's value proposition to our ICP
- Market Intelligence: Gather market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Use insights to inform the sales playbooks and messaging
- Content Development: Lead the creation of high-impact content that resonates with target audiences, including long-form papers, case studies, blog posts, and sales enablement materials
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Design and implement effective go-to-market plans for product launches and ongoing promotions in collaboration with sales, marketing, and product teams
- Demand Generation Support: Work closely with the marketing team to develop campaigns that drive demand, generate leads, and build brand awareness
- Sales Enablement: Equip sales teams with the tools, resources, and training they need to sell StrongDM's products successfully, including competitive insights, key selling points, and objection handling
- Customer Advocacy: Foster strong relationships with customers to develop case studies and testimonials that showcase the success and impact of StrongDM's solutions
- Event and Webinar Support: Support the planning and execution of events and webinars to engage prospects, customers, and partners
Our take
With cyber threats becoming increasingly common over the last decade, securing access permissions within data infrastructures is essential to enterprise survival. However, managing this task can be expensive and complicated, leading some small businesses to combine various budget open-source data services which results in insecure and convoluted infrastructures.
strongDM provides a tool for managing permissions and access within data infrastructures, achieved by ensuring information is siloed to prevent one person from accessing all parts of the infrastructure. In addition to providing these modular security features, the company also makes it easier for technical staff to access the information that they need based on one-click identity checks.
Whilst plenty of data infrastructure tools already exist with the purpose of securing permission, strongDM have made the smart move of integrating their siloed approach to auditable permissions whilst making access easier for those with permission. The company claims that its service guarantees frictionless and auditable data infrastructure by also automating access logging and data capturing across entire IT stacks. Its 2024 funding round will be used to expand its operations into the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions. It's also setting up an engineering center of excellence in Poland.
