What the job involves
- Our product team is expanding! Due to our ambitious goals and growth, we are in the need of extra power and seniority to level up our existing code, initiate improvements and test new features
- You will be joining three Flutter developers, all bringing senior expertise to the table
- 🎨 Design Implementation: Convert Figma designs into fully functional app features, ensuring pixel-perfect precision and adherence to the design guidelines
- 🔄 Sprint Workflow: Participate actively in 2-week sprint cycles, prioritizing, developing, and reviewing features, bugs and technical improvements
- ⚒️ Code Review and Enhancement: Evaluate the existing codebase for optimization opportunities. Collaborate with fellow developers to refactor and level up the app's quality and performance. We try to adhere to the highest code standards
- 🧪 Feature Testing: Implement and run tests for newly developed features, ensuring stability and the desired user experience
- 🤝 Collaboration: Collaborate with our UX/UI designer, backend developer and QA tester to ensure smooth development of app features from concept to deployment
- 🗣️ Feedback: Provide constructive code reviews to fellow developers. Participate and quarterly feedback sessions with the Product team to improve team work
- 📝 Documentation: Consistently document your code and feature developments, aiding in clarity and ensuring smooth collaboration with fellow developers
- 📚 Stay updated: Regularly engage with the Flutter community, incorporating best practices, tools, and technologies to ensure the app remains at the forefront of Flutter development
- Full-time (32-40hrs)
Our take
Noticing the oddity of online dating apps, which encourage users to use their phones to find human interaction or connection, Breeze is a new dating app that actively organises, for its users, offline dates.
Other dating apps earn money by making their users screen-addicted, showing ads or selling ‘premium’ subscriptions. In response to this, Breeze has established partners in different cities and sets people up on dates, charging each party a small amount, but both will get a free drink at the venue. In a short period, Breeze has organised tens of thousands of dates across around 15 different cities with over 100 established partners and counting.
Initial funding rounds were used to accelerate growth, but 2022's seed funding was invested into gathering more insight about the right marketing channels to use. It was also used to effectively scale abroad, expanding its international reach.
