Role
Who you are
- B.S. in Finance or Accounting; MBA preferred
- 8+ years of FP&A experience; biotech industry experience strongly preferred
- Financial statement knowledge and understanding of US GAAP
- Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution oriented
- Strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and ability to translate science and strategy to finance and numbers
- Ability to negotiate contracts to enable favorable financial terms
- Ability to work within and meet all deadlines while executing on multiple deliverables
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Advanced understanding of Excel as well as budgeting and ERP systems
What the job involves
- Collaborate with key functions across the organization to implement and execute our financial planning efforts, including development of annual and long-range plans and forecast
- Lead all budgeting, forecasting and financial modeling initiatives throughout the company, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages, providing budget to actual analysis
- Manage tracking key risks and opportunities by partnering with department managers to align the forecast with the most current business assumptions
- Serve as strategic partner and advisor to the CFO and executive team
- Assist with preparation of financial presentations and supporting materials related to senior management and executive financial reviews, summary of quarterly results, board documents, and other initiatives
- Partner with the Accounting team for month-end and quarter-end close reporting, primarily around accounting for long-term research agreements and other accruals
- Lead financial negotiation of contracts while building out procurement function
- Ensure purchase requests are in alignment with the budget
- Special projects as required
