Who you are
- This role requires an engineer who can take ideas from concept to reality, define automation strategies, and work well in a fast-paced, collaborative, cross-functional team of product managers, software engineers, and quality engineers in an internationally focused organisation
- The ideal applicant will have strong test automation experience; analytical and creative problem-solving skills; and be passionate about improving quality through strategy, tooling, and maintainable frameworks

- 4+ years of web application quality assurance
- Strong experience with Cypress (or similar UI test automation frameworks) and JavaScript
- Experience testing modern web applications built with React.js, Vue.js, Angular, or Svelte.js
- Experience planning and executing cross-browser testing strategies
- Familiarity with accessibility testing approaches and tools
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Good time management skills
Desirable
- Experience with visual regression testing tools (Percy, Storybook, Applitools, etc.)
- Familiarity with accessibility tooling such as axe-core or pa11y
- Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or other cross-browser/cloud automation platforms
- Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and identity management concepts
- Experience working within distributed teams
- Agile/Scrum Methodologies
- Experience with application security practices (OWASP Top 10)
- Experience with systems at scale, Docker, or Kubernetes
What the job involves
- We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Software Quality Engineer to drive and ensure the quality of web applications for the next generation Identity platform
- Plan and refine features from a QA perspective in collaboration with product managers and developers
- Draft test plans in TestRail and review developer-authored test strategies
- Own and maintain our Cypress + Gherkin-based test automation framework
- Build, maintain, and review automated tests, including contributions from developers
- Collaborate with our UX and product teams to ensure user journeys are thoroughly tested and frictionless
- Ensure cross-browser coverage and responsive testing for customer-facing UIs
- Advocate for best practices in testing, automation, and quality throughout the SDLC
- Participate in release activities and provide risk assessments for production readiness
- Drive continuous improvement in test tooling, frameworks, and processes across the team
- Mentor and guide developers and other QAs in contributing to high-quality automated tests
- You will be part of an outstanding team and work with exceptional people

- You will grow and accumulate knowledge related to authentication and authorization protocols and standards as well as identity and access management at scale

PingIdentity is a platform, delivered through both cloud services and on-premises software, that is used to provide a comprehensive Identity and Access Management service. In today’s highly connected digital world, digital identity management services — the process of identifying and authenticating users on networks to access services — has become a key aspect of interacting on the internet.
The digital identity market is worth approximately $30 billion today but growing at upwards of 18.5% and potentially as big as $100 billion by 2024, according to the latest forecasts. Consequently, competition is heavy for PingIdentity, with some other strong players in the various branches of identity management including Okta, LastPass, and Duo Security. The merger between PingIdentity and ForgeRock went some way to consolidating a firm rooting in the industry for both companies.
The now combined, PingIdentity and Forgerock have successfully attracted considerable funding and serve hundreds of brands, including Morningstar, Vodafone, and GEICO as well as governments like Norway, Canada, and Belgium. Alongside this, both companies were acquired by the leading software investment firm, Thoma Bravo in 2022 before the merger. This acquisition offered a unique opportunity for PingIdentity to further grow and marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the combined company and its customers.
