Role
Who you are
- 5 plus years of of full cycle recruitment experience (technical recruitment and leadership experience an asset)
- The proven ability to design and implement recruitment strategies leveraging data insights
- Excellent communication skills - you are a natural communicator and have the ability to work with all different types of people
- Excellent interpersonal skills - you are passionate about building relationships with key stakeholders
- Excellent decision-making skills- you are excited about challenges and can think on your feet
- Working knowledge of employment law and legislation
- Experience using various TA systems including Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter
What the job involves
- In this role, you will attract, source and retain top retail talent across our different markets ensuring that we are always delivering a "best in class" candidate experience including for store leadership positions
- You will lead internal relationships with our Regional Director team to help develop/execute our strategy to attract this talent
- You are passionate about people and are motivated by a fast paced environment
- You will help develop talent strategies to ensure we always have a full pipeline while collaborating with hiring managers to understand their current hiring needs and educating them on the current retail market
- You are a trusted advisor and enjoy mentoring team members on recruitment
- In your spare time at work, you love researching new recruitment technology and tools and are a process guru
- You will also be responsible for helping develop/execute our DE&I, employer branding strategy for retail as well as building hiring training/programs to enable the field to hire their own roles
- Own and manage end-to-end recruiting pipelines for retail positions
- Build out a hiring program and training for the field
- Lead piercing hiring program looking into new pipelines
- Lead recruitment for senior level & confidential searches for retail
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand future plans and develop strategy to deliver on these plans
- Leverage data analytics to drive operational improvements and amplify operational excellence to support team's growth
- Develop candidate personas to ensure we are targeting the right candidates within the retail community
- Coach hiring managers regarding talent pool, market, and salary for employment offers
- Implement recruitment programs aimed at scaling the recruitment infrastructure at Mejuri
- Mentor a team of recruiting professionals to deliver against business hiring needs while meeting quality expectations
- Lead process design and ownership of ATS (Greenhouse) for retail
Our take
Traditional jewelry retailers often target men for gifting - in part to make higher mark-ups acceptable. Mejuri, however, is putting the purchasing decision back with women with its direct-to-customer strategy. Instead of releasing large batches of seasonal pieces, Mejuri introduces only a small quantity of products each week, which allows it to translate trends and consumer feedback sentiments into its designs in a timely manner.
Having accumulated millions of visitors to its website, it is clear that Mejuri has captured a lot of interest. It has released over 1,000 designs since its launch, has an impressively long waitlist, and boasts that a large portion of its monthly transactions come from returning customers.
Despite its online focus, Mejuri has opened a number of brick-and-mortar stores across the US, Canada, and the UK. The company's current focus appears to be on this offline expansion, as it tries to push beyond its biggest markets into the other countries it ships to, as well as investing in branding and the customer experience.
