Our take
Whilst convenient, buying technology online can fail to match the traditional in-store customer experience – and this is the experience that Enjoy sets out to improve. Currently operating in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, the company provides a same-day delivery service by trained experts, who also set up, activate, and teach consumers how to use products from brands such as AT&T and Apple.
Enjoy can rely on strong leadership from founder and CEO Ron Johnson; the former senior vice president of retail operations at Apple, who created the concept of Apple’s retail stores and Genius Bar. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Enjoy was forced to rethink its approach. Adapting to restrictions, its experts offered a socially-distanced service outdoors in backyards and porches, as well as via video calls.
In 2021, Enjoy planned to take the company public on the Nasdaq stock exchange, with a valuation of more than $900 million. Moreover, they also merged with Marquee Raine Acquisition Corp., a technology, media and telecommunications acquisition company, in 2021. This merge is intended to accelerate Enjoy’s rapid growth and further advance its vision to become a disruptive channel for retail.
