Who you are
- You are a collaborative and motivated self-starter, ready to roll up your sleeves and dive right in and lead from the front
- You’re passionate about mentoring engineers and helping them grow
- You have honed your technical skills through years of building and delivering SaaS products, then figured out how to make the jump over to building teams
- You possess high levels of technical talent, programming skills, people management skills and a keen desire to deeply understand our product
- You also love collaborating across the organization with marketing, product, design, and customer teams on key projects
- Built large SaaS products in past roles (specifically user-facing products)
- Worked across the web stack, architected systems
- Hired, mentored, and grown people with a variety of technical backgrounds and experiences
- Worked with Product and Design teams to help scope work
- 6+ years architecting and building SaaS or web products
- 3+ years leading a software engineering team
- Experience with agile and/or scrum methodologies
- We don't require experience with any specific technologies, but we currently use React, Redux, NodeJS, Golang, Electron, MongoDB, Postgres

What the job involves
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers and software engineering managers in building products and delivering value to customers
- Build a diverse team while encouraging a collaborative and encouraging environment
- Create and manage a roadmap for product releases and updates, balanced with technical debt and architectural improvements
- Manage a team through agile processes and procedures
- Provide technical design insight as well as solution architecture planning
- Work with other engineering leadership to align on priorities

Tulip’s frontline operations platform is a connected data and process management tool that lets manufacturers create their own visual and interactive apps that connect with machines, tools, sensors, people and the systems used in a production or logistics process in a physical location.
Tulip gives frontline engineers the ability to address their own shop floor needs, guiding workflows and adapting the apps as things change or improvements are made. Customers only pay for the stations they need, driving better cost efficiencies and the ability to start small and scale up. Its no-code platform and powerful integrations allow connection to new and legacy machinery as well as leveraging the Internet of Things. This has attracted partnerships with the likes of Microsoft and AWS.
Tulip aims to be a next-generation leader in frontline operations, which currently represents a $150B market opportunity. The company's next steps include integrating the recently acquired smart search company Akooda into its platform, as well as further expansion into small and medium enterprise businesses in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. It plans to significantly increase its headcount to support growth as the low/no code platform marketplace is tipped to hit more than $84 billion by 2027.
