Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of product management experience on highly technical developer-focused products
- Experience designing high-quality UX and driving significant product growth for a developer-focused API/CLI/app/platform
- Experience driving new products from 0 to 1, including defining initial product vision, go-to-market strategy, and customer conversations
- Experience working in teams to develop/deploy ML models into production environments
- Experience working on product-led growth products, including understanding how to position free versus premium products to maximize paying customers
- A customer-centric mindset, including being able to take customer needs and translating them into product requirements, while balancing technical constraints with customer expectations to deliver a successful product
- A proactive and ownership mindset, with an attitude that seeks to drive positive change in the organization and learn more from our customers, team, and the broader market
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate (both verbal and written) the value proposition of highly-technical developer products to enterprise customers
- Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally, working closely with multiple engineering teams, program management, tech writing, and developer marketing
What the job involves
- We are looking for a senior Product Manager to drive growth through improvements to the developer experience and tooling across the MAX SDK product surface
- This includes owning the frontend design of the site by which MAX and Mojo users share and discover ecosystem projects, how users install MAX and other Mojo-ecosystem packages, and what tools they need to accomplish all this
- In this role, you will work closely with our frameworks, CLI, design, and frontend development teams, and interface directly with some of the world’s most advanced AI users
- Develop the strategic plan to build the world’s best developer experience and tooling for the MAX product surface, defining the long-term vision, product roadmap, and release schedule
- Work closely with AI users and engineering teams to gather product requirements and prioritize these based on impact, business value, and technical feasibility
- Understand the AI infrastructure market, conducting research, analyzing customer needs and trends, and assessing competition to make informed decisions
- Launch industry-defining features, leading the team through phased testing and release process, prioritizing feedback and iterating quickly, and coordinating promotional activities
- Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, Design, and other cross-functional teams on cutting-edge technologies, ensuring a consistent and cohesive product development process and user-friendly messaging
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, and work with analytics to ensure that you can track product performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions
- Ensure that products align with Modular’s overall strategic goals and vision and contribute directly to our organization's success
- Frontend website for sharing and discovering MAX and Mojo projects
- CLI experience for installing MAX and Mojo
- CLI experience for building, packaging and running MAX and Mojo projects
- CLI tooling to facilitate the optimization of AI models
- CLI experience for users deploying and serving their production AI models into production
Our take

It's AI Engine enhances the performance of models on CPUs and GPUs, supporting popular frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch. And on top of that, it's built Mojo, a programming language that's as easy as Python but much faster (35,000 times faster).
In 2023, the company raised an impressive $100M to power its mission. It's been using this funding to grow its team, support more hardware, and push Mojo even further. With the hopes of making AI development faster, smoother, and a whole lot more fun for everyone.
