Who you are
- A hands on, metrics driven leader who has scaled Account Management teams in high growth SaaS environments and is comfortable being close to the work
- Proven operating under pressure, making decisions with incomplete information, and prioritizing relentlessly in dynamic environments
- Systems oriented and data driven, with a track record of improving forecast accuracy, renewal execution, and team accountability
- A strong people leader who balances empathy with high expectations and measures success by outcomes, not activity
- Comfortable engaging senior client stakeholders and leading complex commercial conversations with clarity, confidence, and credibility
- You have 10+ years of work experience in sales, account management, or client success with 3+ years of direct people management experience with SaaS products
What the job involves
- Predictable Revenue Precision: You have established a culture of rigor where renewals are forecasted accurately 90+ days out, shifting the team from reactive "saves" to proactive NRR growth
- Unified Account Strategy: You have built upon an already strong Sales and AM partnership, advancing shared account plans that create deeper alignment and multi-threaded engagement
- From "Seats" to "Strategy": You have coached the team to evolve from transactional seat-selling to value-based consulting, transforming platform adoption into critical workflow dependence
- A Culture of Commercial Mastery: You have built a bench of top-tier talent and established a rigorous coaching rhythm where deal reviews and role-plays are standard practice, directly translating to higher win rates and faster ramp times
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a team of Account Managers to consistently deliver strong gross retention while expanding wallet share across a large, high volume Financial Services portfolio
- Raise the bar on commercial execution through hands-on coaching, deal inspection, renewal reviews, and ongoing feedback
- Recruit, develop, and retain top performing talent capable of operating effectively in a fast paced, growth oriented SaaS environment
- Commercial Strategy & Operations
- Drive retention and expansion outcomes by identifying churn risks early, shaping account strategy with data, and prioritizing the right opportunities at the right time
- Establish discipline and accountability across forecasting, renewal execution, and pipeline visibility
- Build and refine scalable account management motions that allow the business to grow without sacrificing quality, predictability, or customer experience
- Sales & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Strengthen and enforce the partner model between Account Managers and Account Executives across renewals, expansions, and account planning
- Serve as the senior escalation point for complex renewals, negotiations, and executive level client conversations
- Partner with Product, Customer Success, and internal stakeholders to remove friction and enable faster, more consistent execution
- The Director of Account Management, Financial Services High Growth, leads a team responsible for retaining and expanding AlphaSense across a large, fast growing portfolio of Financial Services customers
- This role exists to scale the High Growth business with discipline. You are expected to bring clarity, structure, and accountability to how the team manages renewals, expansions, and forecasting across a high volume book of business
- You will lead and develop a team of Account Managers while building the operating system that enables the segment to grow without adding unnecessary complexity. Success requires strong business judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and a hands on leadership style grounded in data, coaching, and execution
- This is a high impact role with meaningful ownership and direct influence on AlphaSense’s Financial Services growth trajectory

Manual research can be a serious pain: financial analysts spend hours every week searching through PDFs one keyword at a time, just to find a single usable insight. To remedy this, AlphaSense has built a smart search engine that slashes research time for analysts, using thousands of sources and a semantic indexing layer that can effectively query finance-specific language.
As a disruptor and market leader in this field, AlphaSense has few direct competitors, being most closely compared to Wolfram Alpha or LexisNexis. It helps that its tools are undoubtedly effective and valued by knowledge professionals: the company counts about 85% of the S&P 100 as customers and is trusted by J.P.Morgan, Microsoft, Credit Suisse and Google, among other major enterprises.
Having raised a large amount of funding over 2022 and 2023, AlphaSense has moved quickly to double down on its expansion in European markets, opening an office in Berlin to support this. With 2024 seeing investment from Singaporean EDBI, it has now set its sights on the Asia-Pacific region. As business intelligence will remain key for enterprises as they compete for market share, AlphaSense is well-placed for additional future growth.
