What the job involves
- The Software Automation Engineer 1 is an entry level member of the Software Automation team who will report to the Software Automation Manager
- They are primarily responsible for the setup and maintenance of loan programs used within the Product Pricing Engine (PriceMyLoan)
- The Software Automation Engineer will be given additional responsibilities and tackle increasingly complex tasks as they progress in the team and obtain technical and mortgage expertise
- Build, test, and maintain both new and existing loan programs within PriceMyLoan
- Automate investor guidelines and rate sheet adjustments into eligibility and pricing rules to be processed by PriceMyLoan
- Assist clients with system configuration and custom pricing/eligibility requests
- Investigate issues reported by clients and apply fixes or escalate issues to senior members of the team
- Field inquiries regarding software behavior and utilize knowledge to prescribe best-practice solutions
- Monitor email/web download error logs and update system automation
- Determine client business needs and create workflow rules to define and restrict user privileges within the Loan Origination System
- Obtain basic knowledge of the various roles in the mortgage industry (processor, underwriters, etc.) and what they are responsible for
- Obtain a basic understanding of the life of a loan and how workflow and the PML engine interact with other loan processes (ex: Fee Services, task system, QM)
- Delivery of low to medium complexity builds
- Possess understanding of what type of PML requests can and cannot be implemented and recommend alternative options to clients
- Able to explain complex technical concepts to clients via emails and tickets
