Role
Who you are
- 8+ years' experience in a hands-on software engineering or technical operations role, with escalating scope of responsibility
- Experience developing services and infrastructure in AWS
- Expertise in some of the following areas: Kubernetes, Terraform
- Experience implementing infrastructure, deploy, or security automation and tooling
- Experience as part of an On-call or Incident Response team
- Strong communication skills, and a history of successful collaboration with Engineering teams and other Business units
Desirable
- Experience coupled with humility, a willingness to learn new things, and a desire to be part of a supportive team environment
- Comfort with uncertainty and a desire to be close to business problems
- Curiosity and drive to improve process and tooling
- Tendency to look deeply into the details (and encode them into the documentation and tools that give you and your teammates the confidence to move on to the next challenge)
- Great troubleshooting skills and ability to debug problems that span multiple systems or technologies
- Ability to lead others by example and take initiative to launch new processes or approaches, including getting buy-in from diverse parties
What the job involves
- Our team works on a diverse range of projects: from improving the security and reliability of our Kubernetes platform to analyzing the performance and stability of our applications (and contributing improvements) to expanding the tools that support our fully automated test/merge/deploy pipeline
- All of Devoted has come to rely on the speed and stability of our platforms
- We are looking for a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to join and help us continue to deliver this same level of service to all of our teammates and members as we grow
- Developing a deep understanding of our application in order to build tools to monitor and alert on the most important system activity
- Improving our approach to Kubernetes with an eye towards improving application performance, deployment speed, and security
- Improving CI automation
- Researching and implementing tools and processes to help us achieve our team mission of providing reliable, scalable, flexible, and secure infrastructure that supports Devoted’s fast-moving and innovative business

Devoted Health is seeking to tackle this problem by offering personalised care and proactive health intervention for people on these plans. By diagnosing conditions early, encouraging healthy behaviours, and supporting recovery from treatment, they hope to drive down the overall cost of providing healthcare to seniors.
Devoted Health’s platform connects patients over 65 with doctors, hospitals and pharmacies that prioritise patient-oriented treatment. The company offers in-house insurance plans, full service guides to navigate the healthcare system, and "Devoted Medical" - a team of doctors and nurse practitioners who provide ongoing care for chronic conditions, support after hospital stays and other medical services.
As the popularity of personalised healthcare rises, Devoted Health looks set to capitalise on its ongoing effort to bring more quality to the sector. Having developed an offering it believes does just that, the company has shifted its focus back to growth and marketing efforts, and is aiming to grow its presence across the United States.
