Electronics and Embedded Engineer, Focusrite

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong experience in embedded systems design using C/C++
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g. Altium, KiCad)
• Familiarity with ARM Cortex-M or similar microcontroller architectures
• Embedded Linux experience
• Understanding of digital and analog audio circuit design
• Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet and USB
• Proficient in debugging hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and other lab tools
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a small, multidisciplinary team

• You’ll play a key role in the design, development, and testing of next-generation spatial audio hardware systems
• Working within a small, highly skilled R&D team, you’ll collaborate closely with software engineers, sound designers, and product specialists to bring innovative products from concept to production
• Design, develop, and test embedded hardware and firmware for audio processing and control systems
• Contribute to schematic capture, PCB design, and prototype assembly
• Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware for real-time DSP, network, and control applications
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate embedded systems with software and hardware platforms
• Support the full product lifecycle from concept and prototyping through to production and field deployment
• Conduct hardware bring-up, debugging, and performance optimization
• Liaise with manufacturing partners to ensure design-for-manufacture (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) requirements are met
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to audio, embedded systems, and networking
