What the job involves
- We're in search of an SRE Engineer to become part of our team, dedicated to maintaining the stability and scalability of our platform
- If you're passionate about ensuring the stability and scalability of our platform and are eager to take ownership of the SRE function at SwissBorg, we want you on board
- Our engineering team embraces a robust DevOps culture, where you will be involved in working on internally and externally facing services, improving perfecting operations and ultimately scaling the system for the next Bull Run
- Closely collaborating with development, product and marketing teams you will be closely involved in all aspects of the company's life aimed at providing the best service to our community members
- Eagerly dive into learning opportunities and smoothly adapt in a fast-paced environment. You'll be exposed to various technologies and tools, but you will also receive the guidance and space you need to grow
- Be part of a close-knit SRE team where we communicate openly, support each other, and grow together
- Contribute to the expansion and maintenance of a self-healing system with high availability and scalability for SwissBorg products
- Ensure the health of all environments by monitoring technical and business metrics, setting up alerts to prevent disasters, and acting fast and effectively when they happen
- Continuously improve our CI/CD pipelines
- Work effectively in a team environment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA and platform teams to achieve common goals
- Participate in an on-call rotation for production services and respond promptly to emergency events
- Actively participate in incident response impacting multiple teams -- clearly understanding and communicating what is going on, the next steps, and participate in post mortems
Our take
Founded in 2017, SwissBorg set off with the hope to make crypto investing accessible to all through its crypto trading platform.
“Fun” isn’t usually a word you would use when you talk about investment, but SwissBorg looks to emphasise how its work and development are community-driven. The “fun” proof is in the pudding; it has a YouTube channel with 10,000+ subscribers, and two successful apps, highlighting its aim to bring finance and banking into the modern world. Hitting a $1 billion valuation in 2021, it definitely seems like it's doing something right. Swissborg has attempted to set itself apart not only with its detachment from the old banking ethos but also through its use of a DAO platform, which really affirms its desire to be community-led.
After much turmoil in the cryptocurrency market, SwissBorg has been highlighted as one of the safest platforms by a number of sources. This is clearly something it's prioritising just as much as immediate user needs, as it looks to ensure it doesn't become another victim of the volatility of the crypto industry. Series A funding of $23 million should go some way to quash any worries about the company's longevity.
