Role
Who you are
- You’ll have a strong programming background with a deep understanding and experience developing and maintaining distributed systems
- You’ll need to be able to communicate effectively with engineers across the company to understand the behaviours of our systems and products in order to deliver tooling to meet their testing needs
- Proven track record as a software engineer or similar role
- Programming experience with one of the following languages. Go or Rust
- Experience designing, implementing and maintaining secure and highly-available distributed systems
- Ability to develop, document and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts to verify systems continue to operate as expected
- Create and maintain test documentation, including test cases, and test reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to understand how their systems function and interact with other Cloudflare systems
- Help drive continued improvements in the software development testing processes
- Be a good communicator, provide clear and concise feedback to engineering and product teams
Desirable
- Experience working with synthetic traffic & load testing tools
- Experience with measuring uptime metrics like availability & latency SLOs/SLIs
What the job involves
- Cloudflare engineering delivers code to production at a tremendous pace, and depends on automated testing to do so without incidents
- The Testing at Scale team builds and runs tooling for other engineering teams, to allow them to write tests that verify the interactions between systems and products in production at huge scale
- We are looking for highly motivated software engineers to join our Testing at Scale team
- You will work closely with product managers to support our public facing synthetic testing and load testing products for enterprise customers

Cloudflare is a multi-service global network that provides web security and infrastructure, DDoS mitigation services, and a content delivery network. Founded in 2009, Cloudflare has risen to become an industry giant, with over 25 million global internet properties on its network.
Cloudflare has been responsible for a number of admirable initiatives, offering free web protection to human rights groups, journalists, artists, and US election websites. And impressive third-quarter 2025 results show strong momentum, with revenue rising to $562 million from $430 million a year earlier. The company also raised its full-year guidance, underscoring confidence in continued growth. As demand for secure, cloud-based infrastructure keeps growing, Cloudflare's expanding platform and improving efficiency leave it well positioned to capture further gains in a rapidly growing market.
