Who you are

10+ years engineering experience, including 5+ years leading operations or SRE for a SaaS product
Experience leading cross functionally and has operated in a Senior Director or VP level role at a global company
Expertise with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD
Strong background in systems engineering, distributed systems, and high-scale operations
Experience leading incident management processes and high-availability architectures
Demonstrated ability to build and scale operational teams
Experience with multi-region or global SaaS deployments
FinOps or cloud cost optimization experience
Background in compliance-heavy SaaS sectors (e.g., finance, healthcare)

What the job involves

The VP of Engineering, SaaS Operations is responsible for ensuring the availability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence of a multi-tenant SaaS platform. This leader oversees site reliability engineering (SRE), cloud infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, and production operations. They partner with R&D, Security, and Product to deliver a highly reliable, secure, cost-efficient SaaS environment
This role leads the continue buildout and evolution of our AI infrastructure to power Qlik Cloud's multiple AI offerings
Own operational performance: uptime, SLAs, latency, incident rates, and capacity
Lead teams responsible for SRE, DevOps, AI, cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, and tooling
Establish and enforce best practices for monitoring, observability, logging, and incident response
Drive strategy for availability, scale, compliance, and resilience of AI infrastructure
Drive architecture and systems design to ensure high availability and resiliency
Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Implement capacity planning, disaster recovery, automated failover, and multi-region strategies
Build and lead a world-class SaaS Ops organization with strong managers and ICs
Develop operational KPIs and adopt industry benchmarks (DORA metrics, MTTR, SLOs)
Champion a DevOps and continuous-delivery culture across engineering
Partner with Security to maintain compliance: SOC2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA (as applicable)
Ensure operational processes around vulnerability management, patching, and secure configuration
Lead technical aspects of audits and customer security reviews
Collaborate with Product Engineering to ensure smooth deployments and reduce production friction
Work with Finance on cloud cost forecasting and FinOps programs
Support Sales, Customer Success, and Enterprise customers on architecture reviews and escalations
