Who you are
- You love shipping Single Page Applications and bringing delightful user interactions to life
- You ensure code quality and system security through automation, unit testing and structured code reviews
- You are product oriented, combining thoughtfulness with pragmatism and a will to get stuff done. You are calm and focused under pressure, and consider work-life balance essential for long-term happiness and productivity
- You have extensive experience with React.js and other Javascript libraries
- You are proficient in a backend programming language like Clojure (or equivalents such as Golang, Python, or Node.js)
- You enjoy breaking complex tasks down into small deliverables and iterating with a focus on a delightful user experience
- You believe effective and successful work is made possible by clear and honest communication, with a shared understanding of the long-term vision and immediate next actions. When you don't fully understand something, you ask lots of questions and use the opportunity to learn and grow
What the job involves
- You will join a team of experienced developers building high impact features for our users driven by design, user research, and metrics. Your work will be mostly be frontend focussed but you will be expected to occasionally work on backend services, tooling, and infrastructure
- You will collaborate with peers to define architecture, quality standards, and best practices
- You will work closely with our designers, teaming up in small cross-functional teams to bring features from idea to prototype to final implementation with a high degree of autonomy
Our take
PowerPoint may still dominate the landscape for presentations in many people’s minds, but some might say that legacy status also makes Microsoft’s software ripe for disruption. Pitch, created in 2018, is in line to be a direct competitor to PowerPoint - founded by serial entrepreneurs whose last company was acquired by Microsoft for $100-$200M.
The startup has already seen good progress, and in 2023 reached the milestone of one million workspaces having been created on the platform. It is used by teams across industries, and customers include many other trailblazers in the world of business productivity such as Intercom, Superhuman, and Notion.
Pitch has been growing its user base across its free and pro offerings, as well as introducing an enterprise version suited to large organizations - which means it is now capable of serving a wider range of businesses. The newest updates to the platform include presentation analytics that allow users to see which decks are getting opened, how often and by whom; and a library feature for managing a brand from one central place.
