Who you are
- A product mindset: you care how things feel, not just if they work
- 5+ years of experience building iOS applications with Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
- Proven track record of shipping polished, user-focused mobile experiences
- Strong understanding of iOS performance, memory management, and power considerations
- Experience building and scaling applications with complex stacks, involving networking, persistence, payments, and more
- Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset, able to work seamlessly across teams and disciplines
Desirable
- Experience with AVFoundation and video processing on iOS
- Background in creative, media-rich, or camera-based applications

What the job involves
- As an iOS Engineer at Luma AI, you'll lead the design and development of the next-generation Dream Machine app, transforming it into a fast, responsive, and delightful creative companion
- You'll build and own significant architectural components from the ground up, working closely with our product, design, and research teams to bring our foundation models to life on mobile
- You'll reimagine what a generative video product feels like in your pocket while balancing technical excellence with intuitive user experience
- Architect and build core features for the Dream Machine app
- Collaborate closely with designers and researchers to translate product vision into elegant, intuitive mobile experiences
- Optimize performance for advanced video workflows and real-time media processing
- Contribute to product strategy and roadmap, advocating for both technical excellence and user experience
- Write maintainable, well-documented code that supports rapid iteration and product evolution
- Mentor other engineers and elevate our mobile engineering practices
- Our Dream Machine app is at the forefront of this vision, bringing powerful multimodal AI capabilities to users in an intuitive, delightful mobile experience

Our take
Luma AI is an AI-based API platform that harnesses the power of NeRF (neural radiance field) technology to create 3D models of any object through its mobile application. The generated 3D models can then be used for a range of digital uses, changing how people share memories, search for products, and reimagining internet and gaming spaces.
By utilizing NeRF technology, the company can bypass traditional programming requirements such as teams of 3D artists or expensive photogrammetry setups, thus democratizing 3D creation by making it accessible to anyone with the app.
