Who you are
- As a key member of the marketing team, this person must have a passion for driving demand targeted at enterprise level accounts
- Our ideal candidate is a driven, forward-thinking marketer who can quickly gain a deep understanding of our buyers’ journey and turn that into delivering the right message to the right buyer at the right time
- 5+ years demand generation marketing experience preferred; minimum of 2 years direct mid-market/enterprise campaign experience
- Intermediate understanding and experience with inbound and outbound marketing, lead generation programs, database marketing, lead nurturing, digital marketing channels, pipeline acceleration motions, and funnel metrics
- Has experience building and implementing full-funnel acquisition campaigns, inclusive of integrated tactics from awareness through purchase with demonstrated success in project management
- Ability to analyze marketing data and derive insights and opportunities
- Growth marketing mindset with a willingness to innovate to meet business objectives
- Experience working cross-functionally or in a highly matrixed organization with demonstrated ability to build close collaboration and alignment within marketing and sales stakeholders
- Excellent internet, email, and document management skills
- Experience in audience analysis, messaging, content and journey mapping, program development, and measurement is a plus
- Previous employment in ecommerce and SaaS industries is a plus
- Experience with SalesForce, Marketo, JIRA, Periscope, and Google Analytics preferred
What the job involves
- You will be responsible for campaign development, execution and measurement, and special projects
- Support campaigns to help drive revenue through new merchant acquisition in order to meet or exceed revenue and pipeline targets
- Manage specific programs and partner with cross-functional teams such as digital, marketing automation, and content to utilize a test and learn strategy (i.e., which programs drive the most SQLs, which content generates the most traction, which channels to leverage when and why, etc.)
- Partner closely with the web and digital teams on user experience improvements, including testing plans, cohesive journeys, and conversion optimization
- Continuously measure and review campaign success, leveraging data and insights to make tweaks to strategy as needed to produce desired results; regularly reporting out on program performance
- Understand relevant systems (SalesForce, Marketo, JIRA, Periscope, GA) and how they interact to make sound campaign decisions
- Use a process of testing to prove hypotheses and recommend performance optimizations
- Collaborate with senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives
- Cultivate an environment of teamwork, openness, creativity, and continuous improvement
- Build excellent working relationships with all key business leaders, colleagues, and the broader team, including those in Product, Product Marketing, Analytics, and Sales
- Take on ad-hoc projects as needed
Our take
SaaS eCommerce platform BigCommerce is taking full advantage of the recent shift towards online shopping with its software that helps businesses of all sizes build and run eCommerce sites. Aside from providing a template for stores with functions including shipping and payment tracking, it also provides tools to cross-sell on other markets such as Amazon.
BigCommerce competes in this space with Shopify, another major eCommerce provider. While both companies have their adherents, BigCommerce's competitive advantage is in the sheer range of built-in features provided to its customers and the transparency of its pricing structure. While it can be more complicated to learn its flexibility is prized by the customers who have mastered its features. These include major brands such as Ted Baker, Skullcandy and Burrow to name just a few.
BigCommerce went public in 2020 with a valuation of almost $7 billion. Since then it has expanded aggressively into Europe and the Latin American market, including closing partnerships which enable BigCommerce vendors to sell on Mercado Libre. It is currently focusing on developing its enterprise offering as part of a shift towards profitability rather than continued market expansion as it seeks to navigate through the tricky economic situation for global eCommerce retailers in 2023.
