Role
Who you are
- 4+ total years of work experience across several specialties in growth marketing
- Experience with paid ad platforms - Google, LinkedIn, and even more niche developer platforms like Reddit, StackOverflow, etc
- Experience running a social calendar and repurposing content
- Experience working with working with sales teams, making adjustments based on feedback on inbound activities to find the most qualified leads
- Experience with marketing automation tools like CRMs (Salesforce, etc), email marketing platforms (Customer.io, Apollo, etc), and ecosystem signal platforms (Common Room, etc)
- Experience evaluating campaign success metrics, assisted by a technical analyst
- A hunger to understand, reach & influence our category of engineers
- Exposure to the data engineering ecosystem, including some of the following:
- Data movement (Fivetran, Airbyte, Reverse ETL tools)
- Transformation (dbt, custom Python)
- Data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Orchestration (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, Luigi, etc.)
- Serverless and/or containerized infrastructure (Google Cloud Run, AWS ECS, Docker + Kubernetes, etc.)
- Desire to lead by example in an enthusiastic and collaborative environment
- The ability to be versatile and context switch when necessary
What the job involves
- As a Demand Generation Manager, you will build awareness and leads coming from several warm and cold channels to drive the growth of Prefect Cloud
- You will manage a variety of channels to communicate with our core personas—the data engineer and technical management—including paid ads, outbound, email, social, events, and more
- You will both build new campaigns from the ground up and optimize existing ones by creatively improving their performance
- Your number one goal will be to drive leads and traffic, spread between our product ecosystem and high intent leads for sales
- Conceptualize and execute campaigns across multiple channels including paid advertising, email, social, events, and more
- Be comfortable both nurturing existing subscriptions and creating new cold contacts through the channels at your disposal
- Be extremely data-driven by measuring, experimenting, and optimizing effectiveness of channel performance through different formats, phrasing, segments, and automations
- Partner with different teams including: sales on driving high intent leads, product marketing on promoting launches, and analytics on measuring impact

In 2021, the company raised an impressive $32 million in funding, which is further testament to the value of its platform.
Workflow automation is an increasingly competitive market, and Prefect's main challenge will be competing with rivals such as Google. However, with companies like Adobe, NASA and Apple all signing on to use its services, Prefect shows no signs of slowing down.
