Role
Who you are
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus
- Experience: 5+ years of proven track record of successful sales and business development experience within the European government and institutional sector. Specific experience with ESA, the European Commission and EU member states is a plus. Prior experience in environmental technology, climate solutions, or satellite-based applications will be also be highly advantageous
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with methane emissions, greenhouse gas monitoring, climate change policies, and government procurement processes related to environmental solutions is preferred
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and compelling manner
- Relationship Building: Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels of government agencies
- Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to address customer needs creatively and proactively
- Result-Driven: A self-motivated and results-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets
- Team Player: Collaborative and able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, working together to achieve objectives
- Travel: Willingness to travel periodically for meetings, conferences, and customer engagements
What the job involves
- We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Account Executive to work closely with the Business Development Director European Institutions and Governments, reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, with a primary focus on fostering relationships and driving sales within European agencies such as ESA, the European Commission, the European Union and its member states
- Sales Strategy Execution: Work closely with the Business Development Director to implement and execute the comprehensive sales strategy for the European government and institutional sector. Leverage your expertise in the government sales domain to identify key opportunities and develop tactical plans to achieve sales objectives
- Government Agency Engagement: Engage with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and influencers within European governments and institutions. Build and maintain strong relationships with these entities, fostering trust and credibility for our satellite-based methane emission monitoring technology
- New Business Development: Collaborate with the BD Director to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the target agencies. Stay informed about government procurement processes, requests for proposals (RFPs), invitations to tender (ITTs) and industry trends to position our solutions effectively
- Sales Presentations and Demos: Assist the BD Director in conducting compelling sales presentations, product demonstrations, and workshops tailored to the specific needs and challenges faced by government agencies
- Customer Relationship Management: Support the management of existing government accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional solutions as their requirements evolve
- Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and operations, to ensure a cohesive and seamless approach to EU Government sales activities
- Proposal writing: Lead the preparation of proposals meeting the requirements of specific RFPs and ITTs, and ensure they are submitted on time
- Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of industry trends, policy changes, and developments within the government sector to provide valuable insights to the BD Director and refine sales strategies
- Performance Tracking: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions in the company's CRM system. Provide regular reports and updates to the BD Director and sales leadership team

The company operates a network of satellites that allow for the high-resolution sensing of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, that is precise enough to attribute emissions to individual facilities. Through this, it is able to monitor decarbonization progress for specific organizations and support them in making more impactful changes.
In 2022, whilst operating six satellites, GHGSat was able to observe over 500,000 facilities across the globe. In 2023 it added an additional three satellites to its network, which it says will almost double its measurement capacity. As the only company currently delivering high-resolution emissions measurements, GHGSat is in a great position to capitalise on the rising demand for its tech.
