Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of professional engineering experience with a focus on infrastructure development
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field
- Deep technical understanding of Rust, including knowledge of ownership, memory management, and concurrency
- Experience with common Rust libraries and frameworks for building high-performance systems
- Proven ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and make strategic decisions
Desirable
- Advanced degree in a technical field
- Experience with programming competitions and/or participation in the International Olympiad of Mathematics, International Math Olympiad, International Physics Olympiad, etc
- Entrepreneurial spirit with an interest in spearheading new projects
- Experience with zero-knowledge proofs and zkVM concepts
- Contribution to open-source projects related to distributed systems or Rust programming
What the job involves
- Nexus is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our infrastructure team and help us shape the future of verifiable computing
- Leveraging your expertise in Rust, you will contribute to the development of efficient, scalable, and secure systems that support our ambitious goals
- Design, develop, and maintain the production platforms that power our products, enabling reliability and security at scale
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability between infrastructure components
- Optimize infrastructure performance and resource utilization, focusing on scalability and cost-efficiency
- Implement automation and tooling to streamline infrastructure management and deployment processes
- Proactively identify and address potential infrastructure bottlenecks and issues
- Document infrastructure design and implementation decisions for maintainability and knowledge sharing

Its solutions include cybersecurity and cloud computing support, all focused on Nexus Labs Nexus Project - a scientific and engineering scheme to enable verifiable computation at internet scale.
This ambitious project has attracted impressive funding from top Silicon Valley Investors. No surprise, considering the far-reaching motive of Nexus Labs: to bring about a new verifiable internet. The Nexus Project is attempting to draw on cryptography, mathematics and computer science to create a general-purpose system for verifiable computation.
There have already been several versions of the Nexus zkVM, and its funding is being channelled into improving its capabilities. The company’s work is cut out for it, but early interest from investors suggests that it will continue to grow.
