Role
Who you are
- You know SQL like the back of your hand, you’ve used dbt for years and you have a strong understanding of database design principles (star/snowflake schemas, data vault, normal forms)
- You understand the importance of Visual Language and the critical role of storytelling through dashboards. You’re not about just placing metrics on a webpage
- You’re able to see the patterns and trends in data; you know what story it tells, and you know how to what will drive the business forward
- You have consistently delivered analytical solutions across cloud solutions in an agile software development environment. Snowflake experience is a positive, dbt knowledge is even better and you love designing ERDs as much as we do
- You are an excellent communicator who loves explaining important insights in simple terms
- Gathering requirements is natural for you and people just want to get you involved to help fix their problems
- You like to have a good time while getting things done. When we say a “team player” we mean it - you have a crisp high-five and funny stories to tell. You have your team’s back, and the team has yours
- You’re comfortable helping non-data people interpret data and passing on your skills so they can improve their data literacy
- You love learning new things: You know that there’s always more to learn. You’re up-to-date on new trends in data – you know who’s using what to solve various problems and are excited for the next release of your favorite tool
- Past experience in the Esports/Gaming/Betting/Events industry would be a great asset

What the job involves
- We’re looking for an accomplished Data Analyst who knows that the true mark of intelligence and experience is kindness, and the responsibility to use it to level up everyone around you
- We’re looking for an analyst who loves writing SQL, is happy rolling their sleeves up to write code to organize well modeled data, but who also knows how to communicate and visualize meaningful data insights
- You’ll be joining an Insights Analytics team whose mission is to increase and simplify access to meaningful data and improve every decision we make at EFG
- This is a unique opportunity to help level-up the capability of our team to create valuable insight by increasing the speed, accuracy and availability of useful data

Our take
In recent years, competitive gaming has become a professional spectator sport that draws huge online crowds. FACEIT is a platform that allows developers to run their own online tournaments; providing ranking charts, skill-based matchmaking and anti-cheat software to ensure that these events are as fair as any traditional sporting competition.
The esports market is projected to be worth about £7.5 billion globally by 2030, and FACEIT has attracted large scale investments as it continues to innovate in this market. Not all of its moves have panned out, for example its foray into crypto gaming, but many others have been well-received by developers.
FACEIT continues to release and support new gaming products for the ever-expanding sector, which shows no signs of slowing down. Despite this success, it has undergone a phase of restructuring recently which included staff layoffs. But the company says this marks the end of a phase of change, and that these decisions will position it better for long-term and sustainable growth
