Role
Who you are
- Passionate about helping the Depop community grow through more intuitive, informative, and efficient shipping solutions
- Extensive experience working in or with small parcel shipping carriers/consolidators in a heavily commercial/analytical role
What the job involves
- Manage and advance Depop shipping solutions, label and tracking integrations, costing and carrier rates for domestic and international for customer to customer parcels
- Assist in new Shipping carrier and other partners/vendor evaluations and manage existing relationships
- Manage vendor payment validations, claims and label data reconciliation
- Help to provide data for conducting analysis on all new and existing shipping rates and pricing to ensure accuracy, correct implementation and optimised for Depop business goals
- Monitor and develop optimised KPI reporting of the key operational, technical and financial SLA’s related to Depop shipping
- Lead ad hoc analysis of business KPI and financial elements such as rate changes, on time deliveries and delivery exceptions
- Uphold and improve the overall operational health of Depop shipping based on the key KPI and SLAs on partnerships and the Depop business
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as CX, Product & Engineering and PMM teams to improve upon the user shipping experience
- Contribute to improvements on Depop shipping policies and processes to deliver an excellent and efficient user experience
- Communicate feedback, challenges, roadblocks, insights effectively and concisely to appropriate audiences and stakeholders

The re-sale market across everyday clothing, collectables and luxury is growing. One driving force of this is that people care more about sustainability and are therefore buying second-hand goods. This has resulted in a fast growing market with plenty of opportunity.
The experience on Depop is what you'd expect from platforms such as Instagram. The focus on social, creators and influencers has created a very high level of engagement.
Depop was quick to realise the value in power users and has focused efforts there (where people are generating up to $100,000 in annual income for themselves by selling items). The popularity of social platforms making individuals into entrepreneurs will likely attract interest from Instagram and Pinterest. This may pose a challenge for Depop as these competitors will be in a strong position to leverage their networks.
The company has been acquired by Etsy and is now focusing on strategic partnerships in several industries to keep market share flowing in.
