Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 8+ years of accounting/finance work experience
- Experience as an Accountant or Accounting manager for a venture-backed SaaS startup company, preferably in fintech or lending
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Strong experience preparing for and coordinating on financial audits
- Working knowledge of Excel and financial accounting systems – QuickBooks is preferred
- Extreme comfort with lack of structure and the ability to build processes from scratch
- Strong bias toward action and working quickly
- Kind and empathetic personality
What the job involves
- We are in search of our first internal Senior Accounting Manager to join our Operations team. As an Accounting Manager, you will operate effectively in an ambiguous environment
- You will develop our financial diligence and manage a set of technical and functional accounting tasks. You will work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally to help evaluate and improve our processes. This is a fully remote position
- Own all accounting and reporting activities, including reconciliations, one-off analyses, trends, and monthly flux analysis
- Manage month-end close for all accounting processes
- Build our financial accounting process from scratch and constantly work towards improving efficiency and accuracy of financial close
- Establish and implement policies and controls to support existing business activities and growth
- Evaluate and implement new system tools and improvements, as deemed necessary
- Liaise with internal teams and external bookkeepers to gather data, improve processes, and support business needs
- Collaborate with team members to accomplish team’s and company goals and drive projects to completion
