Who you are
- Extensive product management experience working with B2B SaaS applications
- Proven experience working with remote Agile software teams using Scrum; with additional Kanban experience preferable
- Proven experience working closely with remote UX teams, from research through to design led activities. Experience with design system led applications
- 2:1 or higher BA/BSc in a relevant field; MA/MS preferred
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Experience working in or with the following domains is desirable:
- E-commerce platforms and/or payments
- B2C applications which drive repeat use
- Platforms organised around CRMs and CMSs
- API and data connectivity with third party applications
- UX focused and dominant projects
- Experience with responsive and native mobile applications
- Drive and determination with ability to work in a changing, fluid organisation – be highly motivated, ambitious and a self-starter
- Ability to plan, organise and manage short and long-term software projects. Proactively manage stakeholder expectations throughout
- Understand and drive rigour across the product development lifecycle. Proven success in activities ranging from insight generation to research and discovery, design, development and release
- Advocate and role model the competencies of product-led practises across the organisation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
- Work with data to build out priority justifications, OKRs, measure success for products and features
- Be well organised in the definition of product backlogs and requirements. Experienced with product tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Skilled in user centric design-based projects, with experience supporting UX with research and design process-based activities. Passionate about building products that users love
- Experience in working with Agile Software Delivery methodologies and with Software Engineering teams through SCRUM and Kanban practises
- Good understanding of all disciplines in the wider technology team and sufficient understanding of technical language, that will help build strong relationships and partnerships across the team
- Have a passion for building winning products. Striking the balance between product-market-fit, brilliant UX and scalable technology solutions. Highly skilled at working persuasively across stakeholders in the platform team to achieve the right balance between these qualities
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills with a desire to work with teams across the organisation, partners and clients. Present persuasively across the organisation and to clients
- Be highly articulate with solid experience engaging and presenting to clients, internal stakeholders and senior managers on a regular basis
- Well-developed business acumen and professional skills are desirable
- Commercial outlook with an understanding what makes profitable propositions is desirable
- Experience in understanding commercial arrangements with partners
- Skilled working in a remote environment and motivating remote teams. Happy to travel when required and run in-person workshops and offsites as needed to drive alignment across teams
- Skilled at working with insourced and outsourced development teams
What the job involves
- Lead on significant product change programmes and manage these across the Platform Team, cross functional teams and clients
- Run research and support test activities across SMEs and clients to elicit needs and feedback
- Analyse internal and external data sets to help shape product direction when required
- Translate needs and feedback into product strategies, roadmaps, delivery plans, software requirements and product backlogs
- Articulate and manage priorities which emerge from needs and feedback against wider roadmap and company priorities
- Partner closely with your UX and technical counterparts to strike a balance between market needs, leading user experiences and technical approaches to achieve winning product outcomes
- Build and maintain product backlogs to reflect product roadmap and priorities
- Manage the execution of product roadmaps for your area through your remote Software Engineering teams, leveraging either SCRUM or Kanban practices
- Be the driving force in remote first teams; galvanising team members behind our mission to fundamentally transform our product offering
- Ensure that products meet quality, cost, delivery and feature requirements at introduction and throughout product lifecycle by constantly evaluating performance and adapting the product offering
- Drive rigour in product lifecycle activities and deliverables; in addition to finding and suggesting opportunities for improvements in processes
- Define and input into team and wider business OKRs as required
- Present and demonstrate the product roadmap or software confidently to business and clients when required
- Proactively manage stakeholder expectations on roadmap direction, progress against plans, execution status and risks. Pivot priorities and scope where feedback or evolving needs dictate
- Work with our network of extensive partners to maintain existing integrations or add new partnerships as required
- Own the product go-to-market strategy for your areas across the organisation and out to clients and partners as required. Oversee the creation and updating of collateral, pre-sales material, product documentation, marketing initiatives and training activities in line with product releases
- Oversee the pipeline and adoption of new features and programmes in their formative stages before handover into business-as-usual processes
- Be the most reliable source of product knowledge, providing a one-stop shop for users in both an internal as well as external facing capacity
- Stay up to date on industry trends, best practises and emerging technology trends
- Keep up to date with competitor changes and factor these in to emerging product priorities
- Provide ad-hoc support to the business as required on any topics pertaining to platform development or on-going operation
