Who you are

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist with a background in finance & crypto to join our team
Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on finance or fintech
Experience working with large-scale datasets and advanced analytics techniques
Crypto-native (preferred)
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala
Expertise in SQL and database management
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and data engineering tools
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and presentation abilities
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment
Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience

What the job involves

In this role, you will leverage your expertise to drive data-driven insights and strategies that will shape our developer platform and enhance our commerce tools
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement advanced analytics solutions, contributing to the growth and success of our platform
Data Analysis and Research: Analyze large and complex datasets of onchain data to uncover actionable insights and trends
Product Performance: Work closely with product managers and engineers to build and maintain a high quality pulse on the product. Develop strategies to improve product performance
Financial Analysis and Modeling: Conduct in-depth analysis of on-chain swaps and bridging activities to identify trends and opportunities. Utilize financial data to create strategies that optimize on-chain transactions and enhance the efficiency of our developer tools

Our take

The NFT market went through an astonishing boom in 2021, but the market infrastructure was still in its infancy. NFTs could be minted and sold easily but low-cost, off-chain order books made secondary trades slow and difficult. Reservoir was founded to change this, providing an open order book infrastructure that doesn't introduce significant operating costs for market participants.

NFT trading has been buffeted by significant headwinds since the 2021 boom, yet are still a disruptive force with significant applications in business, gaming and the creative arts. All of these sectors benefit from improved market infrastructure. Reservoir's API has accordingly seen use in a large number of new market applications, most notably powering MetaStreet's NFT trading platform.
