What the job involves
- At Jerry, we are building the first AllCar™ super app to help people optimize all aspects of owning a car, an essential expense that costs the average person more than 20% of their income every year
- We have aggressive goals to scale our business and grow from 5M to 50M users by 2030, and we need a Frontend Engineer to join our small and mighty organic user growth team!
- Reporting directly to our CTO, Musawir Shah, you will be building a powerful frontend system for our web app that will support our ability to dominate search engines, publish mass amounts of articles, and drive our organic traffic
- With your expertise, we can reach customers all over the United States and make Jerry a household name
- Optimization and speed are your domains, and you will stop at nothing to ensure that code quality across your work is exemplary
- Develop, maintain, and optimize our web app using best practices
- Proactively resolve or mitigate technical gaps that may negatively impact our SEO metrics like crawlability, site speed, etc
- Collaborate with PMs, designers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure best SEO practices and optimize for performance and speed
- Uphold code quality by ensuring scalability, readability, and performance
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth by sharing knowledge and ideas
- Our technical stack:
- Language and frameworks: Typescript: Nest.js, Next.js, React, React Native, Expo
- API: GraphQL
- DB: Postgres, DynamoDB, Clickhouse, Redis
- Infrastructure: Built on AWS, microservice architecture with containerized services deployed on ECS and EKS. Asynchronous processing functions running on Lambda

Most drivers in America don’t shop around before renewing their car insurance due to the complexity of comparison sites. Jerry simplifies this process with an AI-powered service requiring minimal personal details to search and secure insurance contracts. Initially focused on insurance comparison, Jerry has expanded into auto refinancing.
Jerry stands out by offering a fully automated experience and comprehensive services for car ownership, including repairs and maintenance, unlike its competitors. These features have made Jerry the most downloaded and top-rated app in its category.
In 2023, Jerry raised $110 million in Series C2 financing, led by Park West Asset Management and others. The funding will expand the app’s services, including GarageGuard, which provides maintenance cost estimates and partner discounts, and DriveShield, which tracks driving scores and offers rewards. Serving 4 million Americans, Jerry has become the top broker for several major insurance carriers and is well-positioned for further growth in the $250 billion US auto insurance industry.
