Who you are
- Demonstrable professional experience and / or training in an Inside Sales environment preferred (or relevant internship experience in a sales environment)
- Ability to understand and analyse customer requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication skills [LANGUAGE REQUIRED]
- Excellent networking skills, both internal and external
- Familiarity with SalesForce CRM
- The ability to function in a team atmosphere, appreciate aggressive goals, and have excellent organisational / time management skills is also desired
- Demonstrated ability to work in rapidly changing environment and being able to respond to changing priorities
- Ability to represent Markforged as a solution to multiple stakeholders
- High energy, enthusiasm and ambition to achieve goals and stand out in the crowd, hunt down leads and work independently as required
- Self-starter, master collaborator and skilled project co-ordinator, with experience managing projects with tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders
- A positive, can-do attitude is a key quality to contribute to the success of the Markforged sales team
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Interest in 3D printing a plus
- Experience with using Apple computers and G-suite collaboration tools beneficial
What the job involves
- As an Inside Sales Rep, you will be responsible for the initial prospecting and qualifying of Sales leads for your territory
- You will convert and qualify leads from Web, Digital and Trade Shows / Events into tangible business opportunities
- You will be accountable for generating prospect / customer information which includes: researching the prospect's company for industry information, market conditions, compelling business events, key decision-makers, and important information needed to take the prospect to the next sales stage
- You will work closely with the Sales Team and Markforged Authorised Value-Added Reseller (VAR) to convert the opportunities to tangibly grow the Markforged business in your territory
- Responding and qualifying incoming leads in a timely manner via telephone and / or email, who have shown engagement through advertisement, direct mail, email and tradeshow interests
- Cold-call and email into targeted accounts, lists or personally researched contacts within a specified region / market to uncover and qualify opportunities
- Build a network; research prospective clients through the use of web / social media, internal databases and external tools to identify leads
- Utilising company resources and existing customer references to build rapport and credibility to establish trust to further prospects along in the sales cycle
- Managing and maintaining accurate prospect and customer account activity and information in the Salesforce
- Provide ongoing lead development and nurturing strategies for prospects that are not currently ready to purchase
- Working collaboratively with Markforged sales and marketing teams and all internal operations to support the sales team goals
- Professionally represent Markforged at all times, working positively and effectively with internal resources and external customers
- Work with sales and application engineering teams in order to ensure effective and successful conversion of leads to generate sales
- Be responsible for nurturing and maintaining a healthy pipeline to secure current and future needs of Markforged
- Actively attend events and trade shows to support the sales and marketing operations of Markforged to grow new opportunities and successfully collect new leads for the business
- Any other duties as reasonably required

Our take
Markforged develops and manufactures metal and carbon fibre 3D printers. There’s been a huge surge in 3D printing businesses as technology improves and demand grows, and so there’s plenty of competition for Markforged in the form of companies such as Desktop Metal, Formlabs and Stratasys.
3D printing has seen some strong growth in recent years, and that’s expected to continue as companies look to the technology to expand beyond the rapid prototyping for which it’s best known. Metal printing from the likes of Markforged and competitors including Desktop Metal are seen as an important step, offering far more durability than plastic deposits.
The business has strong clients, including Disney, NASA, Rolls-Royce, and the US Air Force. And in 2023, it launched the FX10, its first industrial 3D printer capable of printing both metal and advanced composites. Alongside this, the company is set for new growth, having recently been acquired by Nano Dimension. This merger will strengthen their position in the 3D printing market, combining expertise in composite and metal solutions with Nano Dimension's digital manufacturing innovations.
