Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree
- Seasoned sales leader with 3+ Years Experience in a Front Line Leader role or multiple years of Team Lead Experience
- Previous experience a high performing individual sales contributor preferred
- Experience in creating, managing and developing thriving teams
- Knowledge of Education Software, LMS or related markets a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of sales operations, tools like: Salesforce, Clari, Outreach, LinkedIn Navigator
- History of delivering revenue targets
- Positive attitude, energetic, upbeat and professional
- Willing to learn and easily adaptable
What the job involves
- Instructure is looking for a high-performing Sales Leader to lead the Business & Government Sales team in the North America
- Reporting to the Managing Director of Sales, Business & Government, you will work with sales reps to identify, qualify and capture new and expansion sales opportunities to retire quarterly and annual targets
- You will have a solid understanding of Canvas learning platforms and products, and be able to create and manage business for a large region
- Developing Sales Reps, working cross-functionally within the organization and building regional strategy are key aspects of this role
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define sales strategy and lead high impact initiatives to fuel new growth areas
- Lead in establishing the strategic and tactical plans required to identify, qualify, and capture new sales opportunities
- Mentor and develop a skilled and dedicated sales team of generalists and upsell specialists
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline necessary to deliver against budget and quota responsibilities
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that affect target markets
- Day to day sales team management including recruitment, training, motivation, support, development and evaluation
- Lead efforts to improve work processes and build customer partnerships to meet or exceed customer expectations and increase loyalty
- Coordinate with teams across our organization to create focus and drive results

Instructure is an education technology company, creator of the Canvas Learning Management Platform that allows schools to build the digital learning environment that meets the unique challenges faced by their institution. The platform simplifies teaching, elevates learning, and eliminates the headaches of supporting and growing traditional learning technologies.
The Canvas platform has grown to become a key part of a large number of educational institutions, from pre-school to higher education and beyond. Much of Instructure's workforce is dedicated to R&D, which is unusual for a company of their size, and shows their focus on innovating.
Founded back in 2008, the company has claimed numerous successes, including going international and hitting the $1 billion market cap. It has made a number of acquisitions, most recently of Concentric Sky and LearnPlatform. The former saw Instructure incorporate Sky's "Badgr" into its ecosystem as "Canvas Badges", whereas the latter adds evidence-based insights to the platform - both cementing its commitment to building the education industry's most integrated teaching and learning platform to support lifelong learning.
Instructure was itself acquired in 2024 by KKR, which will support a broad-based equity ownership program for Instructure employees. This strategy is based on a strategy of employee ownership as a cause of stronger companies. The move is a promising one considering KKRs track record of acquired companies, but time will tell how Intructure fares.
