Who you are
- Experienced knowledge of Kubernetes control plane and data plane components
- Strong understanding of the Kubernetes Platform and container lifecycle management
- Experience with Kubernetes multi-cluster challenges and Kubernetes networking (e.g. CNI deployment and troubleshooting)
- Experience managing and debugging large scale infrastructure services in production
- A passion for mentoring junior developers and improving development craftsmanship
What the job involves
- The mission of the Software Platform team is to accelerate developer velocity and increase system reliability by building the foundational software platforms and tools that power the rest of Robinhood engineering
- The Compute team owns and provides a fully managed, standardized and scalable compute platform for Robinhood
- We define and implement a cell based multi-region architecture for infrastructure services, which includes the deployment topology of our environments, and configuration and customization of all OSS and in-house built components
- We manage the scalability, security, reliability and cost efficiency of Kubernetes clusters, Node groups across Robinhood infrastructure
- We build and manage systems to enable transparent platform integrations (sidecars, daemonsets) that offer core capabilities (Auth, Security, DNS, Load Balancing, Storage) to our services
- Design large scale systems within the team, making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability
- Proactively identify and drive optimizations and improvements to the infrastructure and systems
- Set up and drive technical directions of the project while mentor and up-level junior developers on the team
- Contribute to open source projects
