Role
Who you are
- At least 5 years of external or in-house legal experience
- Successfully completed second state exam
- Additional LLM would be a plus
- Proficient in MS Office
- Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
What the job involves
- As our Legal Counsels you are making sure that our company’s business is adhering to law in order to drive the growth and success of Journee and it's virtual world offerings
- You will be responsible for all legal matters at Journee ranging from a first draft of a new framework agreement to negotiating the detailed legal terms with the client
- You are collaborating with cross-functional teams across various industries and countries to accelerate our organisation's growth trajectory
- Your day to day can oversee developing and executing strategic initiatives from forging strategic partnerships to designing our market expansion strategies with the key stakeholders.
- As in-house counsel, you are the contact person for all legal matters and are responsible for communication and coordination with external lawyers
- You draft, review and negotiate various B2B contracts like framework and partnership agreements, offers, NDA’s, SOW’s, SLA’s, T&C’s, etc.in German and in English across departments, industries and countries
- You transfer successful business solutions and contract documentation into standard contracts
- You will work together with our Data Security Manager and will review data protection and information security requirements from the legal perspective
- You are responsible for overseeing and specifying our internal governance policies
- You prepare recommendations for action for our teams in all areas of corporate law and train them accordingly if required
Our take
The Metaverse, and Virtual Reality as a whole, has made headlines in recent years for its ability to bring people together and host events. Virtual expos, art exhibitions, even eCommerce experiences in true-to-life luxury stores were recreated online.
Journee is one such company that emerged during this time. Co-founders Thomas Johann Lorenz and Christian “Mio” Loclair had just created a world-first AI-designed sculpture, but were unable to showcase it. Instead, they created their own virtual museum.
Since then, they’ve formed Journee, and gone on to create immersive experiences for some of the world’s biggest brands – Vogue Business, H&M, and Condé Nast among them. It’ll be really interesting to see how Journee can grow from here, with the Metaverse now more widely accepted as a viable place for brands to operate.
