Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in a technical sales role (Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, etc.) or relevant work experience
- Passion for technology and demonstrated interest in both hardware and software solutions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to our customers and partners
- Customer-focused mindset with excellent account management, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and routing/switching devices is preferred but not required
- Experience working with APIs, Python, other scripting/coding languages is a plus
- Willingness to travel overnight up to 30%, depending on customer and project needs
What the job involves
- As a Sales Engineer, you’ll serve as a key technical resource throughout the sales process—supporting product demos, answering technical questions, assisting with integrations, and crafting custom solutions that meet our customers' unique needs
- You’ll work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure a seamless pre/post-sales and onboarding experience across a variety of industries, including Education, Technology, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, and more
- Serve as the technical point of contact for prospects and customers throughout the pre-sales and post-sales process
- Build and maintain strong relationships with technical stakeholders such as CTOs, CISOs, and Network Architects
- Partner with Sales teams to understand deal progress, tailor solutions, and strategize next steps
- Deliver product demonstrations, lead proofs of concept (POCs), and guide stakeholders through technical evaluations
- Translate customer requirements into scalable, effective technical solutions
- Provide feedback to product and engineering based on customer insights and common integration use cases
- Support the design and execution of technical security solutions alongside project managers and operations teams
- Prepare detailed project documentation such as floor plans, scope of work, and solution overviews

The industry leader has received investment from Cota Capital and will use this capital, and Cota’s expertise in building enterprise SaaS companies, to fund more R&D, and build out its sales team to land its physical security platform into the laps of even more organizations.
