Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience in software engineering, with a focus on building scalable and reliable platforms
- Strong experience with AWS and its services (ECS, S3, RDS, CloudFront, Kinesis etc.)
- Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code
- Programming skills in Golang and Node.js
- Experience with API design and development
- Strong experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, monitoring, logging, etc.)
- Experience in leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior engineers
Desirable
- Familiar with PHP and the PHP Ecosystem
- Experience with OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
- Experience in managing infrastructure on GCP
- Experience with Datadog
- Experience with Github Actions
What the job involves
- Design, implement, and maintain a reliable and scalable cloud infrastructure for our AWS-native platform
- Collaborate closely with other teams to identify, solve and support technical challenges
- Develop automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources and infrastructure components
- Write code using Golang and Node.js to create APIs and services that enable other teams to build, test, and deploy our products efficiently
- Continuously monitor the platform’s performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to improve scalability, reliability, and availability
- Develop and maintain APIs, services, and tools that enable our development teams to build, test, and deploy our products with speed and reliability
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in cloud computing, infrastructure automation, and software engineering, and apply them to the platform as appropriate
- Develop and maintain documentation for the platform, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and technical guides
- Mentor and coach engineers on the team, providing guidance on technical skills and best practices, as well as fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation

Shortened URLs have become a booming industry, with competition from payers like TinyURL, Rebrandly, and BL.INK. Bitly, which was majority-acquired by DSSpectrum Equity for $63M in 2017, has raised significant funding, achieved impressive annual revenues, and solidified its position as a credible leader in the market.
After acquiring leading QR code platform Egoditor and its flagship site QR Code Generator in 2021, Bitly has embarked upon rapid expansion and added to the pool of talent across the business. For now, the company's focus seems to be on growing its global SaaS footprint; targeting QR Codes, link-in-bio, and link management.
