Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in revenue accounting, experience in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to operational excellence
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of revenue accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS, AI, or technology company
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606
- Proficiency with Netsuite and Salesforce; experience with Netsuite ARM is a plus
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Knowledge of subscription-based and usage-based revenue models
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Revenue Accounting Manager to oversee the revenue recognition process and ensure compliance with ASC 606
- Reporting to the Head of Revenue Accounting, this individual will play a key role in shaping foundational processes, policies, and controls within Harvey’s accounting organization
- Oversee the end-to-end revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with GAAP, ASC 606, and company policies
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analyses
- Review and analyze customer contracts to determine proper revenue recognition treatment
- Design, implement, and own portions of the sales compensation calculation process
- Provide revenue recognition guidance to stakeholders related to contract structures, new product offerings, and strategic initiatives
- Enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and controls in revenue accounting and sales compensation processes, including support for new system implementations
- Draft and maintain revenue accounting policies, memos, and documentation to ensure clarity and compliance with accounting standards
- Support external audits by preparing deliverables and addressing inquiries
