Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of recruiting experience, with a focus on retail or high-volume hiring
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Able to juggle multiple roles and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
- Passionate about creating an exceptional candidate experience and supporting company culture
- Kind, collaborative, and brings a great attitude—because we’re all about working with people who get things done and keep it real
- Experience with ATS platforms (Lever is a plus)
- Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft tools; advanced Excel skills are a bonus
- Willing to travel occasionally for recruitment events or store openings
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a skilled and energetic Recruiter to manage full-cycle recruitment for store-level roles, including management, across The Black Tux’s retail operations
- You’ll also support corporate and warehouse hiring when needed, ensuring every new hire reflects our commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and customer focus
- As a brand ambassador, you’ll make sure candidates have an exceptional experience and that our hiring practices reflect our dedication to quality and diversity
- Recruit for all store-level positions, from associates to store managers, while providing additional support for warehouse operations and HQ roles as needed to meet The Black Tux’s evolving staffing needs
- Collaborate with store leadership to understand hiring needs, create tailored talent strategies, and ensure timely hiring of top talent
- Manage job postings on various platforms and maintain up-to-date information in the applicant tracking system (Lever)
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the hiring process
- Ensure candidates receive a positive and seamless experience from application to onboarding
- Coordinate interviews, including scheduling, candidate communication, and facilitating onsite or virtual interview logistics
- Draft offer letters and support onboarding processes in partnership with HR
- Maintain organized and compliant recruitment files and documentation
- Represent The Black Tux at hiring events, both virtual and in-person, to attract top talent and promote our brand
- Partner with the Manager of Talent Acquisition to create and deliver presentation materials for hiring events
- The expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than in a showroom or warehouse
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to forecast staffing needs and optimize recruitment strategies
- Track and meet key recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, quality of hire) and identify areas for continuous improvement
Our take
Born from a dissatisfaction with tux hiring, the founders of The Black Tux sought to create an alternative to traditional tuxedo and suit rental outlets, something that was a more fun and enjoyable experience for customers.
Clients can hire or buy one of the company's own designed 100% merino wool suits as well as cotton shirts and proper leather shoes. Using quality and craftsmanship to set them apart from other traditional rental options that typically offer factory-made polyester garments that have been through many rounds of dry cleaning. Customers can build their own look or have one curated by in-house stylists based on their needs. Suit hire is competitively priced considering the garments are worth upwards of $1200 on the shelf.
With standalone showrooms and a Partnership with Nordstrom, Black Tux has recently stepped into the physical retail world. Moving into a future where suits aren’t just reserved for weddings, and the stigma around clothing rental begins to diminish, the company has also started to provide formal wear for interviews and even dates.
