Who you are
- A track record of impact, typically 10+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of total experience in a leadership role, managing engineering teams
- 2+ years of experience managing managers and overseeing teams of 30 or more
- Significant experience leading the integration of SaaS solutions with external customers
- Deep technical expertise in ETL, data warehousing, and test frameworks. Python experience is a bonus
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and customer satisfaction, including technical change management
- Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management experience to navigate trade-off discussions and negotiate priorities
- Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with competing priorities

What the job involves
- We are seeking a pragmatic Senior Engineering Director to lead our Implementation Engineering department
- Reporting directly to our Chief Technology Officer, this role is pivotal in ensuring seamless integration of our solutions with client environments and data
- You will be responsible for overseeing the entire technical implementation lifecycle, from initial planning to post-implementation support
- Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of implementation engineers
- Develop and implement effective strategies for integrating our solutions with client systems and data, streamlining processes, and ensuring high-quality results
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and functionalities with customers’ IT systems
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth implementations, resolve issues promptly, and exceed customer expectations
- Manage engineering resources assigned to complex implementation projects from start to finish, ensuring they meet deadlines, stay within budget, and deliver exceptional results
- Continuously evolve and optimize integration tools, processes and engineering practices in order to reduce implementation timelines, customer friction points and maintenance costs
Our take
Over $1 billion is said to be lost annually by physicians as a result of inefficient and disjointed healthcare billing practices. The subsequently low patient satisfaction rates lead to poorer care, and real losses for providers who see patients switching away from their plans.
Cedar looks to remedy these issues with a selection of consumer-facing services which streamline billing, insurance and healthcare processes. Healthcare billing concerns a huge percentage of US adults, so optimizing patient satisfaction is of increasing concern - a great opportunity for the company.
After acquiring competing patient finance streamlining service OODA Health in 2021, Cedar netted substantial funds and launched its Payer Intelligence Layer. This allows it to integrate data from insurers and providers to create a single source of information. The company was also endorsed by the Montana Hospital Association's shared services division, to be listed as its only preferred patient financial engagement technology.
