Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3+ years of public accounting or a mix of public accounting and relevant industry work experience
- CPA required
- Big 4 public accounting experience highly preferred
- Ability to clearly and concisely document and optimally communicate sophisticated accounting and reporting issues to finance and non-finance personnel (i.e. can communicate technical accounting matters in 'plain English')
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated, solution-oriented and collaborative team player
What the job involves
- Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigate and analyze budget vs. actual fluctuations
- Maintain and update accounting policies and technical accounting memorandums in accordance with US GAAP
- Collaborate cross functionally to ensure completeness of revenue arrangements and vendor spend
- Analyze accounting processes and identify areas for improvement and efficiency
- Support the successful completion of external audits
- Assist with ad hoc projects as they arise

That said, the company has expanded its operations substantially in recent years. Most of its recent fundraise is cited to support acquisitions (it has already announced plans to acquire Compare.com). It is also partnering with MassMutual to strengthen its market leadership.
