Who you are

You can ship prototypes of complex software systems quickly (2-5 days) by boiling them down to their essence, structuring your work efficiently, and debugging fast
You have an insatiable curiosity about all areas of engineering (we deal with a lot of them here at Prosper!)Ideally, you can read papers in machine learning, computer vision, and networking and grasp the key concepts quickly. i.e, you're not intimidated by new technical topics and learn fast
You are excited by a broad scope of responsibility and by challenging work
We are not remote flexible because we're a small team and need to work very tightly with the physical robots
Experience using Python, C++, or Unity is a plus, but not necessary

What the job involves

We don't expect you to have experience in all of these different areas. You'll need to learn quickly and enjoy it to excel in this role.
Write and maintain a significant portion of the code at the company
Our codebase currently spans embedded software, a custom low latency networking and video stack, and a Unity application for teleoperating the robot
In the future, we're adding software for the management of the teleoperators (VR + web) and for customers to monitor and interact with their robots
Collaboratively contribute to smart engineering decisions across all aspects of making household robots. For example, how do we prevent a household robot from falling over and hurting someone? The solution likely involves a combination of software, electrical, and mechanical engineering

Application process

2. Get on a 30-60 min call with Shariq, the founder, to learn more about the company and see if it's likely a fit.
3. Do an 8 hour paid take-home assignment. You'll be compensated similarly to a salary.
4. Do a 1 week paid work trial. You'll be compensated similarly to your salary.
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
10:00-18:00 (UK Time, BST)
We can offer sponsorship and a relocation package to the right candidate

Salary benchmarks

Our take

Prosper makes robots with arms which move around your house to help you cook, clean, and do other household chores. They intend to rent the robots for £400/month. They also intend to expand their robots into other verticals in the future.
