Role
Who you are
- CRITICAL: Demonstrated track record of defining and executing platform or developer experience strategy at enterprise scale, including shipping 0 to 1 and scaling 1 to N products that drove significant customer adoption and measurable business outcomes. You have deep experience building and scaling a developer community and/or partner ecosystem
- Deep technical fluency. You understand developer platforms, low-code/no-code builders, API-first architectures, and modern AI development patterns. You can evaluate architectural tradeoffs, engage credibly with engineering leadership on technical decisions, and translate complex systems into clear product strategy. Prior experience as a software engineer or technical architect is a strong plus
- Fluency with agentic AI and the evolving developer landscape. You follow the frontier of AI-assisted development, vibe coding, and agentic application building. You understand where the market is heading and can convert fast-moving research and ecosystem signals into enterprise-grade product capabilities
- 15+ years of product management experience, with at least 5+ years leading and scaling LARGE product organizations. You have built and developed PM teams and have a track record of attracting, retaining, and developing world-class product talent
- GTM strategy and adoption leadership. Experience defining positioning, pricing strategy, and adoption programs that drive customer acquisition and expansion at scale. You have owned the developer or platform adoption narrative and the partnerships that support it
- Data-driven decision making. You define metrics before launches, track them consistently, and use data to challenge your own assumptions as readily as those of others. You make directional calls with incomplete information and course-correct quickly
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly strategic and deeply technical Vice President to own product strategy for one of the most transformative businesses within ServiceNow's AI Platform group: AI Application Development
- This VP will lead a team of senior product managers and serve as a strategic partner to the SVP of AI Platform
- The ServiceNow developer platform is not a supporting capability; it is a critical growth lever of the company, and its mission is as follows: Empower builders and developers to discover, build, deploy, and govern enterprise AI Applications that reason about and automate complex and bespoke business processes
- This is intelligent, AI-powered application development, enabling every enterprise to discover and compose AI applications that learn from data, make decisions, and handle complex workflows with limited human intervention
- The more builders and developers (human and agent alike) who build on ServiceNow, the deeper ServiceNow's operational footprint becomes across the enterprise
- The market is signaling that vibe coding, AI-assisted development, and agentic application building are capturing developer imagination at a pace we have not seen in a decade
- Enterprises are actively searching for a trusted platform to standardize on, and ServiceNow, with 20+ years of enterprise process depth, a governed data layer, and Action Fabric as the execution runtime, is uniquely positioned to win that category
- This is the moment to make ServiceNow the home for every builder, and we need a visionary leader to seize it
- Define and own the multi-year product vision. Set the strategic direction for how enterprises discover, build, deploy, and govern AI applications on ServiceNow. Translate market signals, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback into a product vision that spans the full developer surface area, from professional engineers to low-code builders, and define the multi-year roadmap the organization executes against
- Own go-to-market strategy and developer adoption. Define positioning, packaging, and adoption strategy for the AI Application Development Platform. Partner with sales, GTM, and partner teams to drive customer acquisition and expansion. Set adoption metrics (developer velocity, application deployment rates, time-to-value) and own the developer ecosystem story, including how ServiceNow attracts and retains builders across the enterprise
- Translate the frontier of AI development into platform primitives. Stay at the leading edge of vibe coding, AI-assisted development, and agentic application building. Understand where developer tooling, LLM-assisted workflows, and open-source ecosystems are heading, and translate those patterns into scalable, enterprise-grade platform capabilities that compound ServiceNow's developer advantage over time
- Lead and grow a world-class product organization. Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team of senior product managers. Establish PM discipline, culture, and operating rigor that emphasizes technical depth, customer empathy, and rigorous prioritization. Develop the next generation of product leaders and create an organization that is a competitive differentiator in talent
- Drive cross-functional alignment at the executive level. Serve as the central product voice for the platform across engineering, design, and go-to-market. Influence architecture and product direction across multiple teams and organizations. Make hard prioritization and tradeoff decisions and communicate them with clarity and confidence to VP+ and C-suite stakeholders

The company was founded in 2004 with a vision to build a cloud-based platform that would enable regular people to route work effectively through the enterprise.
Much as Salesforce enables a company to manage its external clients by keeping a record of all contacts and interactions, ServiceNow promises an internal system to meet the needs of employees. It has succeeded in claiming half the market, setting itself apart from legacy IT service-management software players like BMC Software, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Cherwell Software and CA Technologies.
The company's success comes from two product traits: simplicity and customisability. ServiceNow's IT tools don't require the IT department to set them up. Once running, they offer a single collection centre for requests, data points and checklists, all of which can in turn be analysed by algorithms to predict needs, flag concerns and measure efficiency.
The company has more than 7,700 customers, including 85% of the Fortune 500 list of the United States' largest corporations. ServiceNow now looks to increase its revenue threefold in the upcoming years and has entered into a 5-year partnership plan with Visa, beginning with the launch of a Visa-integrated dispute resolution solution for issuers. The company is prioritising organic growth over mergers and acquisitions, with a target revenue of $15B, something which its Visa partnership will no doubt aid in achieving.
