What the job involves
- We’re hiring an Assistant General Manager at our rental facility in South Plainfield, NJ and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction
- Create and maintain healthy vendor relationships. Including service, delivery and office related material needs
- Complete invoice review and maintenance
- Procurement of all items needed for daily operation of the facility
- Maintain DOT compliance records
- Weekly inventory audits for parts and assets
- Implement and maintain safety policies for all employees at the location
- Assist General Manager to ensure maximum branch performance through efficient execution of procedures
- Review monthly profit and loss statements with the General Manager to understand the business and business trends
- Monitor metrics including, but not limited to: equipment utilization; underperforming assets; warranty recovery; billed mechanical hours; aged receivables and customer satisfaction
- Conduct weekly safety meetings with all location employees
- Ensure all branch employees have been properly trained on all equipment. Conduct and orchestrate all required training. Manage all records of completion
- Assisting the General Manager in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures while complying with legal regulations
Our take
Innovation in automated equipment presents opportunities for increased efficiency for contractors, but this comes at a huge financial cost. Furthermore, whilst this equipment is often highly valuable for the completion of a contractor task, the equipment may remain unused for a significant time after task completion.
EquipmentShare provides a telematics platform for contractors called ES Track, a service that facilitates the rental of under-utilised equipment. This is achieved by using the software to determine usage statistics of a piece of equipment, providing insights into financial opportunities a contractor may have in terms of equipment rental.
In addition to presenting itself as the ‘Airbnb of contract equipment’, the company presents further potential by focusing on transforming existing equipment to be fully autonomous. 2023 funding was used to expand its reach, and in combination with providing rental insights, EquipmentShare’s approach is uniquely focused on finding money-saving opportunities for contractors. Its next step is to rally for an IPO, for which it aims to raise more than $777 million.
