Who you are
- Have the ability to read through documentation, understand requirements and ask questions when in doubt
- Have good communication skills in both listening and understanding, as well as speaking and being understood to feed back bugs and repro steps to team
- Have strong analytical skills, ability to think critically and communicate complicated information in a clear and concise manner
- Be inquisitive and patient, willing to dig into the details and not get frustrated
- Have strong attention to detail and good organisation skills
- Be a fast learner that thrives in a fast paced and energetic environment
Desirable
- Have 0-1 year of relevant experience in previous QA or product roles
- Have solid technical troubleshooting skills - experience in technical troubleshooting would be a bonus but not a requirement
- Have strong ability to work independently but also know when to ask for help
What the job involves
- Hands-on product testing for a new social media app used by millions
- Lapse is used by millions of users globally every day to capture and share special memories with the people they’re close to. Ensuring we have a bug-free app is critical to giving users an incredible experience
- Your job will be to test new features in the app as well as new builds of the app daily and feed back to engineering to ensure the app is bug-free for each release
- You’ll work closely with the product, engineering and customer support team to ensure the quality of the product
- You’ll familiarise yourself with product specs to ensure solid understanding of expected behaviours and any edge cases
- You’ll create and track bugs throughout the testing process in an organised manner
- You’ll take ownership of communicating test results to the engineering and product team in a clear and concise manner
- You’ll collaborate with development and product teams to identify testing scenarios, environment configs and edge cases to ensure thorough testing before release of features and app updates
- You’ll triage bugs with product team and work with engineering to ensure they’re fixed in timely manner
- You’ll collaborate with customer support to ensure understanding and tracking of bugs reports coming from users, as well as sharing short term fixes when applicable
- There is clear progression within the role to step into more feature driver PM responsibilities based on performance

Our take
Lapse is on a mission to reinvent how people socialise with friends. Its social disposable camera allows users to share a virtual role of film with friends, limiting them to 36 snaps that are hidden once they're taken. Then, 48 hours later, the snaps will be developed and shared with their group all at the same time.
Aiming to become the next big social network, Lapse looks to capitalise on the fondness and nostalgia for analogue photography - take the rise and fall, and rise again, of Polaroid and Instax cameras - and give it a modern tech twist.
