Client Systems Engineer, Electronic Arts

• Proven ability to learn the legacy systems by reading and debugging the code
• 5+ years experience in a hands-on development role
• Strong working knowledge of modern C++
• Experience working with engine subsystems (rendering, resource/asset management systems, animation, navigation, loading/streaming) either as a power user or contributor
• Experience with geometry, linear algebra, calculus, and physics as they pertain to transformations and motions in 3D space
• Windows desktop development experience required
• Code optimization skills

Desirable

• As a Client Software Engineer on The Sims, you will work on the engine systems and client services within the Sims 4
• The work will range from rapid prototyping to production development and will cover different aspects of the engine and game tech. Most of the work will be done in C++
• Extend existing proprietary engine systems to allow development of new client features in the field of graphics, animation and path planning
• Design new client features and extend the asset pipeline in collaboration with gameplay engineers, designers and artists
• Write cross-platform code with performance and memory usage in mind
• Write technical design documentation detailing software requirements, usage guidelines and implementation route
