Who you are
- Proficiency in the configuration of servers, networks, computers, peripherals, and business software platforms
- Extensive knowledge of system security and procedures for protecting the organisation’s data from intrusion or corruption
- Excellent communication and customer support skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and create work schedules with minimal supervision
- Excellent troubleshooting, creative and technical problem-solving skills

- Microsoft 365 administration, including Azure AD/Entra AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and the general Office productivity suite
- Strong technical knowledge of network and server operating systems including in depth understanding of VLANs and network segmentation, RBAC, and least-privileged-access approaches
- Experience with support of on-premise Microsoft Windows, MacOS, and Linux Operating Systems, SQL Server, and Active Directory services (DNS, DHCP, LDAPS, etc), and firewall management (SSL/IPSec/L2TP VPNs)
- Proven project management experience in IT infrastructure planning, development, and operations
- Powershell scripting for automation of routine tasks
- Experience with endpoint management platforms such as Intune, SCCM, Jamf
- Familiarity with VMware, Azure, GCP, and/or AWS server virtualization
- Enterprise Backup, Replication and Business Continuity and Disaster recover mitigation and response
- Strong understanding of Helpdesk and Customer Relations Support systems
- Embracement of the ITIL Framework
- Process Automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning (ML) Artificial Intelligence basics
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field OR 6+ years of relevant professional industry or military experience AND previous IT Infrastructure, IT Management, or IT Business Operations experience
- A minimum of 2+ years of direct management experience is required
- Up to 10% travel may be required

What the job involves
- Infleqtion UK is looking for an IT Manager who will oversee the planning, organisation, management and coordination of IT services and functions within Infleqtion UK
- The successful applicant will ensure the smooth operation of internal IT systems and infrastructure, supporting the organisation’s overall objectives and growth
- The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
- Develop, implement and manage IT strategies aligned with the organisation’s business objectives
- Oversee the design, development, implementation and day-to-day maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure
- Recruit, manage, and lead a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, training and performance evaluation
- Adhere to best practices in securing and administering all on-premise and cloud-based systems, data, and networks
- Preparing budget estimates used by executives to plan, organise and schedule work
- Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers (i.e. development platforms, telecommunication companies, hardware suppliers) and software licences
- Install, configure and monitor both wired and wireless network topologies
- Providing training to fellow employees about network security and the best computer usage practices
- Contribute to the ongoing documentation efforts with regards to policies, processes, and procedures
Our take
Quantum physics is a rapidly developing scientific field that promises great innovations within computing, with some working quantum computers already existing. However, such computers are extraordinarily expensive and complex to operate, making it difficult for startups to leverage the technology and apply it to commercial products.
Infleqtion, previously known as ColdQuanta, develops quantum computers, sensors, and networks, integrating them to form an ecosystem of cloud-hosted quantum infrastructure readied for commercialisation. This empowers businesses to leverage quantum computing without needing their own quantum computer, accelerating adoption of the tech.
While quantum computing has rapidly developed from proof-of-concept to practical applications in the last decade, it has yet to break into common use. By increasing accessibility to the current state of practical quantum technology, Infleqtion should be able to help disrupt industries across the board. Its research arm, which has retained the "ColdQuanta" identity, remains primed to bring new advances to the space, which will, in turn, be more quickly commercialised. Substantial funding raised through its IPO and SPAC merger with Churchill Capital X in 2026 means that Infleqtion is the first neutral atom quantum company to be publicly listed.
